Hi Bossman we have over 200 keyboards that wopuld need replacing. I've done a google search for disabling hotkeys through GPO, but all I get is vista this vista that. do you have a quick quide or know where one can find info to disable the function keys?

I need it to change the following states in 'Power Options Properties' on the Advanced tab. When I press the power button on my computer: change to Do Nothing When I press the sleep button on my computer: change to Do nothing this will then stop the kids from putting the machine in to sleep mode or switch the machine off while the teacher has control to the machine using remote classroom management software (Viglen Classlink 7). make sense

Need to set some power options in Power Options Properties under the Advanced tab. there are no gpo settings so I need to create my own adm file "I THINK" lol any advice, examples, tutorials etc or books..meh that can get me started on creating .adm file? much appreciated kev ps I've attached a screen shot to show what needs changing

I was basically going to set power states for all the workstations in the school via GPO, but it seems there is no option. The kids keep pressing the sleep and power button on the keyboard, which is causing problems when staff try to take control of the machine during lesson.

Alright, Creating a gpo entry on a server 2K3. went to create it under our student OU in Group Policy Management rather than the Workstations OU. Quickly gave me self a slap across the head and removed the new gpo from student and tried to recreate it, but under Workstation OU. Now it says the following warning message: "GPO with that name already exists. Chose another name" I'm guessing the first entry I made is cached some where. How does one go about clearing it so I can create gpo in workstation. cheers... Hope that made sense

Hi we use floppy disks to boot computers when creating/restoring images. could do with getting rid of the huge mountain of disks. is there a step by step guide anywhere that can explain how I can go about creating a bootable USB ghost disk? Thank-you

cool plan... but if they use fireworks to create flash work for ocr etc then this would cause a few problems. think he may need to wright a script to delete particular files that he has listed. I would be intrested in this, as the kids seem to be able to download daft games like jetman etc

cheers It didn't seem to do anything I ran the script from the d: drive which is where all th users documents are stashed. it brought up the cmd and listed gazillions of text and numbers and then closed. am I doing something wrong?

Hi gang, Hdd space is starting to get a little tight on the main file server (MS 2K3), so I need to print a list of each students quota size and usage to help me figure out who is wasting valuable space. cheers in advance
