I want to setup our new joomla site on 2008, So I looked for some tutorials and so Far I've done the following installed IIS7, MYSQL, MYPHP Before I go any further I wanted to make sure that a simple static website could be created. So I created one called staff.... this was 2 hours ago.. I just cant seem to access a simple static webpage. if I type in to browser from remote machine http://staff it struggles to find then shoots off to google. now If type http://(server name)/staff I get a "404 Error file or directory not found" Any Ideas?

I've ran into a large problem Im developing two subdomain sites for staff and students and I'm not far off from completeing them before I upload it all to the hosting company I'm with. The problem is the student or learningwall is going to need more than 20Gb of storage for it to work, and the hosting plan I'm on is limited for both bandwidth and storage. Is the a solution for thats preferably free or not to expensive that can do the job? Im with CSNEWMEDIA

Personally I think Dell suck, overrated, and cost a fortune to repair DELL PSU to fit Dell PC case cost us £80 standard would have cost £30 Dell printers.... poor quality and cost a fortune to replace the toner cartridge. And I'm not to keen on the DELL switches... had two fail in the space of 4 month.

All admin passwords are in the school safe for HT DHT and My line manager. My line manager also has a technician account but its only to be used in extreme situations.

ok permisions aside... for the second... Im trying to get jsmallfib to look at folders outside of the site folder e.g. {jsmallfib [\\kevin-pc\test] 63:2, 65:3 g6:2 desc(Hello file browsing world!)} test folder is on the 'C:\' drive and this is the fllowing error message I get

figured it out... needed to turn off tiny edit so it dosent interfere with script... just need to understand the permissions now

Im wanting to use this plugin on a joomla website Im creating and I have suddenly hit a problem.. How the do I use it in an article. its a plugin called 'jsmallfib' and here is the guide Guide to jsmallfib it talks about command with in an article, but I'm not sure how I go about implenting it. I've installed the plugin on my test machine. any ideas?

thank you for all the comments, I now have three companys working on a solution and at present only one has come back with a very positive responce and are very pasionate about what they do... not just about the sales. the setup been suggested all depends on if the older 3com gear around the school can be supported with the new gear. we shall see what happens.
