Our Joomla site was hacked (not as badly as yours), but it was pretty easy to fix. Here's what I did. 1. Stop the webserver 2. Check index.php - the rogue code was easy to identify - remove it. 3. Using cygwin grep, check all the php's for the same rogue code and remove it. We has 57 instances. 4. Stash the clean php's so we can copy them back if it happens again. 5. Restart the webserver. The hack we experienced, has also been seen on Wordpress. The rogue code started //###=CACHE START=### error_reporting(0); $strings = "as";$strings .= "sert"; so it was easy to identify. I have no idea what the code was doing; most likely trying to send spam emails or similar. Thanks for the suggestions. I did think of Cygwin, put I didn't want to slap that on the server. I've rolled my own with PHP which is OK but could do with something more comprehensive. We'll certainly have a look at Varonis.

I know Max Spielmann do this, but I have no idea as to what they would charge. A quick look online indicates widely varying prices (£8.50 per tape to £36 per tape). If you have lots of tapes, buying a recording is probably cheaper.

Any recommendations to log changes to files on Windows systems. Basically we want something to establish a base line for certain directories, and then run as a cron job over night to compare changes to the baseline. If there are any, produce a report and email to me. Thanks!

I've used Koha in the past and provided you can export records in a "sensible" format (eg for your catalogue MARC and for your borrowers csv), Koha will import. YMMV - the system imported when I used it but that was 7 years ago, and they might have deleted this feature, although I doubt it.

In the article it says "The devices could give players who wear them an unfair advantage, especially if they provide real-time feedback during games." I don't see this as any different to F1 and other car racing. F1 has used live telemetry since the mid 1980s and in 2002, engineers were allowed to adjust the car from the pits as it is whizzing around the track. This has now been outlawed, but I think they can use live telemetry to adjust the car during a pit stop. A couple of years ago they tried live telemetry for the Worlds Strongest Man competition, but I don't think the viewers found it all that interesting so it is no longer used AFAIK.
