  1. Does that mean a quick change, or will everyone need to re-enter their password? These are my options - I assume WPA2/WPA3 does both (?)
  2. Hi Maxell, did this work? We have a similar issue with our W11 visualisers!
  3. Hi all, One thing I've not recently looked at is our WIFI setup, as we run Unifi exclusively and to be fair, it's always sat there and done its job. with the advances of technology, I'm tempted to put in a bid for new kit but want to weigh up if it's worth it or not. Unifi seem to change their products more frequently these days (and not always for the better) So, we have a couple of U6 Pro units, the majority are NANO HD (now discontinued) and a few AC Pro stragglers, which do make up a majority of the older building. We're also still using WPA-Personal for our keys (not interested in Radius) so is there a new fromat we should be using? Thoughts Welcome https://eu.store.ui.com/eu/en?category=all-wifi
  4. Unifi do offer a Cloud controller https://unifi.ui.com/consoles Or anything onsite can be connected to the cloud - Do you have InTune? You can push out WIFI settings there, and I've found it's one of the InTune polices that seems to work fairly smoothly.

  7. Hi All, Just testing the waters - what sort of pricing would these be if interested? We may have 150 Flex PC's - 16GB RAM i5 9400F Processor (6 Core, 2.9Ghz) No SSD or monitors, still with 1-2 year manufacturer warranty - Reason for sale is we need better GPU's for enhanced curriculum (photoshop, virtual machines etc.) and can get a better deal on a whole new unit as opposed to getting just card upgrades. ------- NB these are currently not for sale, just seeing what prices are there if interested!
  8. Everything in life has a Simpsons Quote for it....
  9. I thought so - If we all had to let the government know when we changed a light switch to an Alexa smart switch they would be overwhelmed.... Larger is safer than smaller though, smaller can cause heat buildup and burns, larger will just be..... slower..... And yes, I don't daisy-chain, but running a whole gaming setup in a 1930's house is difficult enough as is.....
  10. Good question - from what I've seen, no - unless you want to sell up; the whole thing is a bit confusing tbh but even B&Q have a how to on adding a light fixture! Here's the before, pretty bog standard I've bought 2.5mm wire for all the connectors - that's standard for a double socket inside the house, and tbh there are extention cords that draw far more power around the house *cough*
  11. Hi All, Due to lack of a DIY forum I thought I'd post here. We're running out of sockets in our Garage (despite having extra ones put in 2 years ago) but my Electrician friend has moved up North, so I thought I'd see if I could do this myself (before anyone panics you are allowed to modify lighting rings yourself, though ironically I would never modify sockets myself) Basically we have 3 lights - two are plugged into the wall, and the roof one is just crap and needs replacing. I bought a splitter that should split the single lighting ring (240V) into 3 I then have planned this diagram; So, my question is- Can I spur off that extra ground cable, or can I nick the one from the light switch? I read you only need an Earth wire to sockets/switches if they are going to be metal (which these aren't) but it can incur a penalty if you sell the property without a Earth to each switch box. Is any of this feasible? Also, the two LED lights are exterior, but are switched; one with a standard switch and one with a fused switch. All our electrics run back to an RCD panel that was installed and serviced around 2017
  12. Ah - Now another interesting development, when I add 'Account Operators' to the Cluster Computer Account, it removes it after a few hours... ...I found this with any other permissions I added, if I have a user/computer who is a member of 'Account Operators' then any custom settings I apply are 'reset' in a few hours...
  13. Ok, so maybe some progress? I've found this error can also be caused by port 464 being closed - But I can access the DC from the Cluster; But not from the DC to the Cluster; Could someone else with a Cluster check if this is expected behaviour?
  14. No, they all live in the same place in AD - It keeps adding them all to 'Account Operators' but each time I remove them or change permissions it puts them back again.
  15. Hi All, Bit of an odd one, which I'm scratching my head over; Our S2D cluster is complaining about password changes with error 1207 https://kb.eventtracker.com/evtpass/evtPages/EventId_1207_Microsoft-Windows-FailoverClustering_64599.asp This happens every hour on the dot; now I remember ages ago because of a pingcastle thread I disabled the ability for users to add computers to the domain And I changed the default domain policy to only include 1 user who could add machines to the domain, and the 3 cluster computers (gensvc was already in there I think) Anyone have any ideas? I might change the ADSI back to '10' and see if that works (?)
  16. From my understanding, new KCSIE documentation only covers school supplied devices only, there is a caveat in there that mentions reasonable issues with students using personal devices. With this said, as long as your actual devices cannot roam onto hotspot networks and your filtering is in place for BYOD connections you should be golden, complications come from if they take those school devices home, as then they need to be secure. Also, a second shout out for @Wave9_Lee as the man is a legend.
  17. Of course - but I assume it's only a 'might' stop working? as it seems to work fine here with SMB disabled
  18. So for reference this bug only applies if you have SMB1 disabled? Having it enabled means it works correctly? We have SMB disabled but it still runs correctly (?)
  19. Try Windows Updates for Business http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-server-2019/225621-has-anyone-ditched-wsus.html
  20. Ok, updated to 23.2.4.2338 - Still nothing on the main screen though, I can't see anything in the JSON file. No worries though as I've added it to the ribbon that way. Regards,
  21. I'm waiting on our exams officer to release the files so I can send them, the text appears for a fraction of a second then vanishes, nothing on Alt+Tab that I can see. Also, I may be being dense but I can't see a restore option for the new UI?
  22. Hi there, We have witnessed and cannot reproduce the following bug on version 22.7.7.2311 What we found upon investigation was we could open a backup, but only in the old version of EWP 2.0.8.9 as when opened in the new version it was still blank. I have the files I can send? It seems changing the filetype from 'backup' to 'regular' works to 'recover' the file ?
  23. Which of these do you disable for students? We usually leave everything open for staff except Yammer; Microsoft 365 A3 for students Azure Active Directory Basic for Education Azure Active Directory Premium P1 Azure Information Protection Premium P1 Azure Rights Management Common Data Service Common Data Service for Teams Education Analytics Exchange Online (Plan 2) Information Barriers Information Protection for Office 365 - Standard Insights by MyAnalytics Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise Microsoft Azure Multi-Factor Authentication Microsoft Bookings Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps Discovery Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Plan 1 Microsoft Forms (Plan 2) Microsoft Intune Microsoft Intune for Education Microsoft Kaizala Pro Microsoft Planner Microsoft StaffHub Microsoft Stream for Office 365 E3 Microsoft Teams Minecraft Education Edition Office 365 Cloud App Security Office for the Web for Education Power Apps for Office 365 Power Automate for Office 365 Power Virtual Agents for Office 365 Project for Office (Plan E3) School Data Sync (Plan 2) SharePoint (Plan 2) for Education Skype for Business Online (Plan 2) Sway To-Do (Plan 2) Universal Print Whiteboard (Plan 2) Windows 10/11 Enterprise Windows Update for Business Deployment Service Yammer for Academic For students I've disabled; Bookings (From my understanding they can still use bookings, just not make thier own, which is another thread I need to make as it seems staff can create booking rooms which creates users and emails in Azure grr) StaffHub Power Automate Skype Windows Update for Business Deployment Service Yammer for Academic anything obvious I'm missing?
  24. A question from our new exams officer - "Given the unreliability of adding a printer via gpo, could we have a way to automatically map the printer as the executable is launched?" I had a think and yes this could be written into the program with for example a 'custom scripts' launcher that you can add custom batch or PS1 files too - Or could we replace the .exe with a batch/ps1 that calls the printer first, then opens the EXM executable? Which would be easier to implement I wonder?
  25. Can confirm this works for us - a quicker method is to search 'calibrate' on the start menu and select 'calibrate screen for pen or touch' then follow the prompts UAC is required so it does need to be done by an admin (stupid) but can be done remotely if someone is there to tap the correct screen (!)
