If I drag those over I get lots of columns. Essentially it adds the students timetable, and I don't seem to get the ability to filter on a particular subject. Using Filter in the top section I can filter to a subject, but then it shows me all students still with all the columns because they take Mathematics.

Thanks. With the report I'm trying to get the Mathematics class code, for import into a cloud system. So in the report I want the student name and just their Maths class code. I can get it via Reports > Student List > Class List, but then it's a faff to massage the data in the resulting spreadsheet into something I can import. The General Student List give me all classes, so I don't think I can use that.

Hi folks, I'm trying to create a report that returns students studying a particular subject. The difficulty I have is that subject is within the Classes table, and I can't figure out how I filter on that. If I select Classes in the filter section I don't have the option to pick a specific field within that table, it just shows me Classes. Any suggestions? Thanks

Worked well for one PC. On the second PC I could only see the browser, so not sure what happened. We tried reconnecting several times, no dice, so had to give up. The member of staff has to click on both the Allow and the Windows elevated credentials for AnyDesk, so not sure if something went wrong there.

It does at least allow me to send credentials, having tested with a second PC here. Will give it a go with staff and see what happens...

Frustratingingly MSP360, Quick Assist, and even TeamViewer, can't cope with an admin privs dialog popping up. It locks me out. @FragglePete Any ideas if AnyDesk can cope with this?

I tried on a local account and it's fine, so it's something peculiar to my O365 account. I can get it to work though, phew!

Anyone had any luck with Windows' Quick Assist? I run it, but can't seem to get it to generate the 6 digit code. It takes me to my browser where i login with my Office 365 details, then it asks me to provide the code.

MSP360 needs installing, but Remote Utilities looks like it should work. Ta!

@MW_NetSupport Is NetSupport Manager easy to use over the Internet, and does it require a client installed on the remote PC? (I've used NetSupport School, which I know is essentially LAN based, so not sure how similar it is) Thanks

Hi Folks, Any recommendations for alternatives to TeamViewer? It seems to be on the fritz as I've had two identicial IDs for users in different homes, and it fails to connect. Need to be like the run-once option with TeamViewer because this is for supporting home users. Can't require admin privs to run, needs to have a non-commercial license (or similar/free), and be something I can easily get a home user to run. Recommendations? Thanks

Hi Folks, Do any of you use a site/system for parent community discussion? Microsoft Teams has been suggested here, but I think it’s a particularly clunky system for this, plus there’s the issue of enabling and inviting guest users. At the other end of the spectrum is something like Facebook and a group/page, which I’m sure will have been setup by parents for year groups anyway. That has the issue of not every parent having or even wanting a Facebook account, so won’t catch everyone (if you can ever catch anyone). Any thoughts about what might work, or do you already use something? Thanks

You could adjust your timetable to make it a registered period, if you're using an MIS. Or make it a club. Or see if their support have any ideas [email protected]

Looks like the Capita one is SIMS ID, which seems to be a whole SSO solution. We have RM Unify that already federates with O365 and syncs from our local AD, so we need something that will sit comfortably with that. A shame that the RM Sync Tool doesn't do this as part of the sync, but I'm checking with RM if they have any recommended solutions that work with their system.

Hi folks, Aside from Salamander and Ruler, are there are any other sync tools that will create Office 365 groups from SIMS classes? Someone has mentioned Capita make one, but I'm not finding it with google. Thanks

It does appear to be the only way. The Teams Admin Centre is also rubbish for making mass user changes. Seems to be targeted at just the odd user change here and there, so presumably they then expect us all to be PowerShell experts... Calls has now disabled for me. A waiting game.

Could you do that through a policy in the admin center, or does it need to be via PowerShell?

I was expecting a Class type team to automatically set student chat to be moderated as per this link, but I've tested with a student account and can seemingly chat freely in a Class team: "Teachers moderate student conversations and who can post where." https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/choose-a-team-type-to-collaborate-in-microsoft-teams-0a971053-d640-4555-9fd7-f785c2b99e67 Can you set moderation via a messaging policy? Although I'm not sure teaching staff will want to moderate every bit of chat in a team, and we're being up front with student that they need to abide by the acceptable use policy.
