Yes, I have an old Radeon card in the current desktop, and I can't get drivers newer than 2015. Suffice to say it's not great with Win 10, regular crashes! Part of the reason for wanting to update.

Is it the 10700K that has the integrated GPU? I'm way out of touch with all this.

My mistake, that's actually DDR4. What would be an equivalent AMD CPU?

I didn't realise HDMI was so sensitive. We've run HDMI to TVs up to 20m without issue, although these were professionally installed. Promethean are telling us that we have to use cables branded as "premium", and I've bought some sample 5m cables that match this description. They say we can't go beyond 7.5m in length, but from 5m in length I can only buy 10m, 15m etc. I can't find 7.5m. It's the wallbox though that we really want to retain, to save having to replace the whole cable, remove trunking etc.

Hi folks, Been a while since I built my previous home desktop (12 years in fact!), so I'm after some component advice. Despite the age of the desktop it has a modular PSU that I bought within the last 5 or so years, when the last one failed. I'm also looking to reuse the case, which was also changed in the last 5 or so years. I use it as a media server and for browsing. I might fit a decent graphics card at some point for gaming, but at the moment I just want a reasonably fast machine for Internet browsing and a bit of app use. I'm also going to get a new SSD for the OS, as the current one's currently showing a health of 6% in Crystal Disk Info (it must be coming up on 10 years old). Hi folks, We have a 2019ish iMac with Catalina and Office 365 connected to a Promethean touchscreen via a USB C HDMI adapter. MacOS is configured to mirror the displays. The combination works fine until we open a PowerPoint and then launch a slideshow. When we do this it only shows the slideshow on the iMac, not the touchscreen. The touchscreen goes black as it seems the display is disabled. It doesn't matter whether launched as a normal slideshow or in Presenter View. If I reconfigure the displays to be extended it still does the same thing. Anyone know how to get the slides to display on the second screen? Thanks

I'll try anything at this point, I'd forgotten about active cables. Ironically they all seem to be too long for what we actually need, but Farnell seem to have several that don't require external power. The reason we like to have a wallbox is because that the cable to the teacher laptop inevitably ends up getting trashed, so it makes it easy to replace. Surely we're not the only school who does this?

Hi folks, We've been having frustrating issues with the latest 75" Nickel Promethean touchscreens and some new laptops we have, specificially Lenovo V15 and Dell Latitude 5511. The problem seems to be that the laptop video signal isn't getting through to the touchscreen. Inevitably when these have been installed it's been done with 3-5m cables to a wallbox, then a 3-5m cable to the teacher's desk. Promethean have said that they only guarantee connection with the 3m cable bundled with the screen, but inevitably 3m isn't always long enough to get a cable to a teacher's desk. We initially thought it was just Lenovo V15s that had the issue, but the Latitudes are our most recent buy and they seem to have the problem as well. When raised with Promethean a couple of months ago they said they can reproduce and would produce a firmware fix, but we've received nothing so far. Other than buying top quality cables (and perhaps seeing if we can get Promethean's own cables) what else can we do? Thanks

Hi folks, One of the contractors here has been using Microsoft SharePoint Workspace since Office 2010. His business partner hosts documents in it which they have both been editing. The business partner can edit the docs, but this contractor can no longer sync with them. Has the service been pulled? I can't spot anything obvious online, although it's part of 2010 and I can see both that and the app have been discontinued. My guess is that they just need to move to 365, but just wanted to confirm for sure. Thanks

Having spoken to Microsoft support, something has corrupted on this folder. We're looking at ways to remove it. The staff created these links by going into the Team area via SharePoint, and there's an option there "Add shortcut to OneDrive".

After some research over the weekend, it can't be done. Musicians can control their level from the app though (up to 20 iOS devices can connect to the mixer).

Hi folks, Any Mackie experts out there? We've just had a Mackie DL32R amp installed. I understand mixers reasonably well, although this is a complex beast. I've read 300 pages of the manual. Tinkered a bit with the live system. I'm not at the system at the moment, and wondering if you can actually monitor from an iOS device with the Master Fader app. Is it as simple as plugging in a pair of headphones, or is there more to it? Yep, I'm pretty sure I'm getting that issue as well. I get a "Task Sequence has failed with the error code 0x80070057 in the task sequence step 'Partition Disk 0 - UEFI'. For more information contact your system administrator or helpdesk operator." Do you think I'm safe to copy and paste that script within a "Run Command Line" step in SCCM? I'll give it a try anyway. (Will take an age for the ISO to build again!)

Did you just remove the partitions on the SSD with Hirens? Just testing that now, but having to rebuild a new memory stick with the task sequence which will take some time. I'm 99% sure I installed the Win 10 2004 ADK - from memory they didn't release one for 20H2.

I've created a bootable memory stick with the task sequence on for SCCM, but there-in lies the problem of the task sequence always partitioning disk 0. Even if I manually change the task sequence to use disk 1, frustratingly it doesn't save (helpful bug, not!). I'm looking at PowerShell scripts that set the OSDDiskIndex variable to whatever is identified as an SSD, but it's not working so far. I did try removing the memory stick at the point that PE boots, but that doesn't seem to work either. I still get the error.

Thanks, although that doesn't seem to be the issue. I think I've narrowed it down to an issue with the hardware "randomly" selecting either the memory stick or the laptop's disk drive as disk 0 - I'm sure there's a thread somewhere complaining about the architecture of the GeoBooks. The task sequence partitions disk 0, and therefore partitions the USB media I'm using for the task sequence. There seem to be various mentions of this with other laptops, so I'm trying a PowerShell script in the TS ahead of the partition statement that detects the drives, sets the correct drive as a variable, and then passes that to the partition step. Fingers crossed...

Hi folks, I'm trying to deploy a new task sequence to some (dreadful) GeoBook mini laptops. They aren't capable of PXE booting, so I have put the task sequence onto a memory stick via the task sequence media wizard. The task sequence essentially rebuilds the machine with a new version of Windows and installs some apps. Initially all was fine, and I built 3 or 4 (there are 16 in total to build). I have (or had) three memory sticks with the deployment image, but "randomly" I started to get the error "Task Sequence has failed with the error code 0x80070057 in the task sequence step 'Partition Disk 0 - UEFI'. For more information contact your system administrator or helpdesk operator." Whenever this happens the memory stick is wiped and it seems to have the partition removed, so my guess is that the task sequence looks for a drive, finds the memory stick, and then runs the partition command on it. Suffice to say it's annoying because I then have to rebuild the memory stick, but the bigger issue now is that this is always happening. The task sequence was originally based off the task sequence wizard, so the steps are that it restarts in Windows PE, has a step to partition a BIOS machine, then a step to partition a UEFI machine, followed by a step to apply the operating system etc. The partition steps use the default value of partitioning disk number 0. Can anyone help with how I troubleshoot this? I'm guessing it's partition related. Thanks

Hi folks, Is there an idiotproof way to delete links to Teams files from within OneDrive? Somehow a couple of staff have managed to create links to Teams files areas within their personal OneDrive. In one instance this showed with a chain link on the folder icon, but in another instance it didn't. I unwittingly deleted the folder thinking the staff member had created a duplicate, but it transpired they hadn't, and thousands of files had to be restored to the Team. Seems really dangerous to allow this because of the confusion it causes, with me included! Thanks

Seems to be working here also. After all the fuss, surprisingly little traffic.

The machine is joined to a local domain, and the issue must be connected to that because the local admin account is fine. Previously the PIN setting solved it, so not sure what's changed. Sigh.

Hi folks, I've rebuilt a Spectre we have here with 20H2. Subsequently I cannot get face sign-in to enable for domain accounts. It works fine for local accounts. Under "Windows Hello Face" it says "This option is currently unavailable". If I click on that it says "Something went wrong. Try again later." The Set up button is greyed out. With previous Win 10 builds the resolution was to enable the following in group policy: Administrative Templates > System > Login > Turn on convenience PIN sign-in This hasn't worked this time though. I've tried enabling a bunch more settings, although all of these are "On" when set to "Not Cofigured" (Windows Components > Biometrcics > Allow domains users to log on using biometrics, Allow the use of biometrics, Allow users to log on using biometrics. Also Windows Components > Windows Hello for Business). I've checked for driver updates to the camera and the biometric driver, there aren't any (and the drivers are relatively recent). Any ideas?
