We have a CM2 here and the interface is very similar, my guess would be the hardware is the same, just running their own code. Can't fault the device at the moment, just be careful when ordering external sensors, some plug straight in, others need additional adapters.

Do you have dedup enabled on the 2012 fileserver? I had the exact same issue while migrating from DPM 2010 to 2012. DPM 2012 sp1 + CU2 cured the issue for me.

If a trace works from both networks and mail is flowing, it really points to an issue with your proxy server. Do you proxy everything or just www, if you can try something you don't proxy to confirm like ftp or ssh.

Do you loose internet access for both networks or just one?
