@samcbshep21 Could be related to this, what driver are you using? Have you tried rolling back the drivers or using the latest update they just released? I might want to make money from them later. The website is only small at the moment but I don't want to give them free reign, they've asked about using them on their website on a particular article so I don't want to license the image and say yes use it and it's then used all over their website/Facebook/Twitter/whatever freely as they see fit.

I took some pictures and a website wants to use them, does anyone have any wording I can use for a contract to license them the images non-exclusively and so they can't crop, resell, remove watermark etc? Cheers

Set one of them up with OS X Server and keep it as a master machine for your office for testing/configuration/mac server. You can set up profiles/shares etc like you can in Windows

HELP! Word 2010 suddenly taking an age to open documents!
Pyroman replied to Pyroman's topic in General Chat
I've used a program that replaces templates and it doesn't seem to do what I'm after so it now looks like i'm after replacing this image in every document, any scripts or programs kicking about to do this in multiple folders -
HELP! Word 2010 suddenly taking an age to open documents!

I LOVE YOU! There's a hyperlink attached to a bl%%dy footer image. If you try the URL it just asks for a username and password for 127.0.0.1 so apparently it's been there forever and the site has just gone down and is preventing us from opening the document. The problem is now this; the template is our letterhead and has been used on countless documents. How do I go about removing the hyperlink or changing the logo for one without a hyperlink from an unknown amount of word documents? -

Unfortunately not no :/ i'm going to try @psydii 's suggestion of fiddler and try and see what's trying to open. There's a hyperlink in the header but even after removing that it doesn't work. -
HELP! Word 2010 suddenly taking an age to open documents!
Pyroman replied to Pyroman's topic in General Chat
I've used procmon and I'm trying to decipher what it's spitting out. It does look like word is trying to access our proxy (even with just trying to open the Template which has no external images linked and used to open fine on my PC). I also tried copying the file locally and it takes ages but if I disable the network connection it loads instantly. So I vaguely know what's going on but not really what to do about it, the document opens fine if the network is disconnected but obviously that's not really helpful! =D -
HELP! Word 2010 suddenly taking an age to open documents!
Pyroman replied to Pyroman's topic in General Chat
That sounds exactly the issue we're having, I've timed it and it waits 2 minutes before it decides to open. I'll try the save as.. route but there's a shedload of documents it's doing it on! -
HELP! Word 2010 suddenly taking an age to open documents!
Pyroman replied to Pyroman's topic in General Chat
Right, I'm getting somewhere! It's to do with docx templates, we use one for our letterhead and it appears any document with it as the base for the document takes forever to open. I'm still not entirely sure why though. If I just try and open the docx template directly it takes a long time to open as well :/ edit: If you open the document in Protected View it opens instantly but if you click enable editing it then takes an age to open to edit properly -
HELP! Word 2010 suddenly taking an age to open documents!
Pyroman replied to Pyroman's topic in General Chat
Just to test, I've removed ALL printers on my test machine and only have the network shared I'm trying to open from and still have the issue :/ Luckily it's not all documents as I've said above but unfortunately it's affecting the ones these particular users want to open! -
HELP! Word 2010 suddenly taking an age to open documents!
Pyroman replied to Pyroman's topic in General Chat
Okay, update time. It only appears to be certain docx files that are slow to open. This is also happening when I've copied the file locally to my desktop. -
I've just had this from a couple of different users and it's the same on my machine. When trying to open documents from a network share Word 2010 is taking forever to open them. Office File Validation isn't installed (as far as I can see) Any thoughts? It's disrupting a huge meeting :/ Edit: Windows 7 Clients, Server 2008R2

Are you wanting it kitting out or building or both? You can start getting into all sorts of crazy with floating rooms within rooms for proper noise/vibration isolation it depends on the budget. And the same with mixing consoles, you could spend £3K on a nice desk or £20k+ on a proper console.

Superb, I am now a happy man! Aye, I'd seen that about the free Apps, as you say it'll actually make life easier in the long run I think. Cheers

One more question! When we bought and deployed the Apps in Configurator you log into the VPP with one account [email protected] to purchase the apps then you have to log into iTunes with another account [email protected] to redeem a code to import into configurator and then all apps are deployed using that [email protected] inside configurator. Is that how yours was set up and successfully migrated? I can't see any other way it could have been set up

That's exactly the info I was after =D cheers. Feel much happier about it now. My usual approach would be the same as yours, but with it being the School's money I'm a little wary! A Write up would be brilliant if you have the time.

When you migrated did you have to do anything with the supervised iPads that you had the Apps installed on? Either remove the apps with AC1.x or update everything to the latest iOS or anything else? I've got 50 odd iPads and over £1k of apps and I really don't want to stuff it up!! =D. I've posted a screenshot from AC2 in a comment above and this looks like it's trying to do the migration through AC2 rather than filling out a request form. I've not dared to click Enable yet!
