  1. Hi, We use Xibo, but the master template is defined by us and the main content we play is a collection of video files (mostly rendered from PowerPoints... With some RSS tickers at the bottom. It seems to work fine for us. We'll try to grab some screen shots later...
  2. Hi All, Our Exams Manager has raised a query with us... please see screenshot - She does not want the TBA entries listed on the students' exam timetables... ... my guess is that this is designed behaviour and waiting for the dates and times to be input manually to Exams Organiser? However - I've promised I'll ask if anyone knows how to remove them... Thanks! Gareth
  3. Hi, We've come across an issue on a student record... we're using the Medical Events section as an accident book (as recommended in the handbook: https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/search/RequestSharePointFile?i=KKKL5QU54zI%2Bkm8KoezlDyly2TbML08kiO8TaXohkT1x%2Fope1NbisHkuFODKqSY47hyuQ4NDKVS3MPAwF3eNHu%2BxrIUGsTPRnVDYbNxaQDbrIxTrszKZgeEqrn%2FlO%2FWFZu9Eni1BSXXCMIUWKznbiQ%3D%3D ) on page 203. However - there appears to be a limit on the number of entries that can be made against a student - once over this limit, it removes a previous entry. Does anyone have any ideas about this? i.e. what/where the limit comes from? how can we change it? Thanks Gareth
  4. Hi Liam, I just edited the config XML to use \\servername\sharename Then restarted the server... It worked after that! G
  5. I've just had the same issue... In the doc server config file (probably in program files...) make sure it references a UNC path rather than a mapped drive Still on phone to county support desk so can't update much more than that at the moment...
  6. Hi all, There is another way of doing it... I've previously found that the Group Policy password policies don't work that well. I have previously set up shadow groups for OUs in Active Directory, and then change some settings in AD to enforce the password policies... However - I can't find a reference for the document I used before... G
  7. We are looking for two IT Apprentices to join our team. More details can be found on our website: Pakefield - Support Staff Vacancies Thanks Gareth
  8. Hi All, I have probably misfiled this but it seemed the most appropriate place... We use Exchange 2010 and have some calendars published to the web (that bit works ok...) We can subscribe to them as ical or display through Outlook Web App. HOWEVER - the Outlook Web App will only load Month view by default... we want Work-week (Monday-Friday) view by default... Does anyone know how we can achieve this? Alternatively, we're open to anything open source and free that we could install on a web-server which might sit between Exchange and displaying the calendars how we wish. Thanks Gareth
  9. Hi... we're currently trialling SIMS Communication Log... think it's going well
  10. I've looked at roombookingsystem, but £! We have just less than zero budget and would love to have everything in one place that just works
  11. I guess if the report is defined, SIMS.net can be scheduled to create an updated report every X to keep the booking system updated? Would be really good if it did reflect timetable changes automagically without having to do this though
  12. Thanks muchly, the teachers were all hugely jealous
  13. The careers & work experience co-ordinator needs a database where she can log: - All placements offered - All employers offering placements - All students in the school (SIMS link a bonus here) - Link students to placements - Generate mail-merged letters/forms She has an old clunky solution written for WinXP but it's not great... Does anyone have any other suggestions, or know of 3rd Party solutions?
  14. Email sent this morning Thanks!
  15. Hi All.. Thanks for the heads-up on the phone, Luke Gareth
  16. Hi... I've asked for it as CPD time at work... not had an answer yet though :/
  17. Hi All, We've been asked about a database to look after work experience placements, careers consultation meetings etc... Does anyone have any recommendations please? Thanks Gareth
  18. Hi All, We have got a couple of published calendars from Exchange 2010 that we can see in two ways - the HTML and the ICS versions... but that doesn't fit with what we want to do, unless we can find some (reliable, internal) ways to tackle our problems: 1) HTML View, we want to default to "Week View" or preferably "Working Week View" 2) We *really* want it as an RSS feed, not ICS... Any suggestions how these can be achieved please? Thanks Gareth
  19. Dave, I had a problem with the 1.2 client. We were using proxy autoconfig files - but it actually wants the proxy details embedded in IE directly (or the client)... might be worth a try with the new version? Gareth
  20. Hi All, Got a bit of a strange one here... the SMART board tools allow me to align the board and save the settings as an administrator... but a normal user can't do it. Any idea where it saves the data so that I can have a poke around with the permissions so teachers can align their own boards instead of relying on me to do it for them? Thanks Gareth
  21. Hi, I've got a number of students that have decided to do a CTRL+A on the address book and send to *everyone*. We don't really want to remove the global address book from everybody, but want to be able to address it... What we'd ideally like to do is be able to put in place either: - More than XX recipients, the message is dropped with an error (for STUDENTS only... so the Global Transport Settings thing doesn't work) - More than YY recipients, a popup message "are you sure you want to send to YY people"? ...any other suggestions? Thanks Gareth
  22. Hi - I've got the problem where: Non-admins can run the alignment/orient tool, but these settings are then not saved... but when I (as an admin) log on, it works fine and saves for all users. Has anyone discovered the particular registry keys needed please? Also - one of our teachers has helpfully tried to apply a firmware upgrade using the tool and managed to cook a board for us... might be worth SMART looking at their software and sorting out problems like this! G
  23. What about two scheduled tasks that run at logon: 1) run only if idle for more than XX minutes: Lock computer 2) run only if idle for more than YY minutes: Log off (forced) Both set to stop if the machine isn't idle, and repeat the task every XX minutes? Shouldn't be *too* resource heavy?
  24. Hi Ryan, We have PaperCutMF for our print accounting, and it has the option to download a "profile"/apps to iOS devices to allow printing through the PaperCut software [http://www.papercut.com/products/ng/manual/ch-iosprinting-app-ios.html] Hope that helps? G
