I simply cannot get the default printer set using group policy. Anyone any last thoughts please before I bin it off and use a con2prt script? Stuart

So it's working for me this morning! The only change I made was that I enabled all the students' accounts in AD, which then sync'd up to O365 and enabled all their cloud accounts. However that doesn't make sense to me as those accounts have never been enabled from the start!

Yup. I called up around midday for an update and the guy I spoke to said he couldn't see a ticket! He has now logged one and I have received an email confirmation of that. I also said to him that some guy called stevo1565 had the same problem and he said "Oh I know Stevo"! I spoke to Dave there. Don't know if you know him?

Presumably as otherwise I wouldn't have been able to add them to their tutor group teams yesterday? Also, O365 isn't aware of their start date is it? It just syncs their account from AD.

Morning, Yesterday I set up using the Teams app my five new tutor groups for the Year 7 students coming in. All worked perfectly. Today I have gone to setup their classes (I've abandoned importing via Salamander as it just looks too scary) and when I want to add the students, it will suggest any student except my new year 7 ones! Any idea what I've done? Really need to get these sorted..... Thank you Stuart

We specify a PROXY and then a different port for Students, Staff or Techies. The staff port isn't working for me today, but the others are. Logged a ticket but wondered if anyone else had similar? Stuart

I've exported my data using the salamander tool (still need to edit and fine tune it) and just watched this video; It looks a bit scary though if I'm honest! I'd like to see the teams it is going to create, and who is in them. I don't really want it creating 00's of teams which I then want to alter slightly, and have to delete and re-create them. Is there a preview bit or something? Thank you Stuart

So is running con2prt.exe the only reliable way of deploying printers still? We had a load of printers deployed using "Deployed printers" and GPOs. We now have all new printers. I have removed all the deployed printers (by clicking "Deploy printer" and "Remove all"), deployed the new printers, and checked the GPOs. All computers still connect to the old "FollowYou" queue, most devices seem to not pick up the new printers, be they User and Computer deployed, and some devices are setting "Adobe PDF" as their default printer whether they've picked up the new printer or not. A gpupdate seems to make the new printers appear, but these policies have been in place for a couple of days now. Shouldn't things be picking them up by now? Any thoughts please? Thank you Stuart

As stated, this is NOT at the point of installing a SOLUS agent, this is before that.

I'm not at the stage of picking a workstation to deploy on to, just the bit where it lists the computers in Active Directory.

I've added myself to the local admin group, even though strictly speaking I'm in it anyway as I'm a DA, and it's made no difference.

Administrator account just works with no domain specified. My admin account still doesn't. I've looked through that thread and have full control over all the places, I'm reluctant to just add "Everyone" to places like it says to.. This is not even letting me choose a computer to install it on though, this is at the "Active Directory" bit before that. If I ignore it and go to "Network" and type a computer name in, in that box which asks for credentials I do need to specify the domain before the administrator account, and my admin account doesn't work however I try it.

In the SOLUS3 Deployment Service, when trying to add a new computer you can specify AD credentials. Mine will only accept my actual domain administrator account as far as I can tell. I want to disable my domain admin account and have a different account for admin stuff. The account I am trying to use is a domain admin as I've been using it for everything else adminy for weeks!
