I have School guardian and it works fine with all my winxp etc pc's. I have just put together my first ubuntu server and have also installed the gui (until I get used to command line) I can use firefox through the proxy although I have to put my username in as domin\username then password, as it does not like username@domainname then password. I cannot get the update package to work all I get are 407 authentication errors. I am using ntlm authentication for the windows machines. I am guessing this is a simple tick in the right box problem . Hope somebody can help.

I had a laptop with Personal security warning of virus. Could not do anything. Either access denied or when I tried to install malawarebytes it did nothing. Eventually found on a forum somewhere. "Go to C:\program files\common files\psecurity\ double click uninstall.exe" I could not believe that it would work but I thought I had nothing to loose and it did work. So I then installed malawarebytes and ran a scan which picked up a few bits that were left. Who ever heard of a virus with an un install

If you mean the fn +f6 or f7 then yes but they have no effect while booting

No everything seems to be fine it has been working since yesterday morning, head did not turn it off last night.

I was asked to look at the problem of the headmasters laptop (had to be his) During boot up it gives all the symptoms of the back light not working, ie screen very dark can just about see that it is booting up. If you wait and can just about see the "Press Ctrl alt Del....to logon" then logon to the network. Once the user profile comes up suddenly the light gets turned on and all is well. I have tried to get an external monitor so that I can get into and see the bios but no avail. Bios only appears on the laptop screen. Any ideas Oh its a Toshiba Satellite Pro Win xp

It seema to be a common problem but all the fixes I have found have not worked for me When a user who is a "publisher" tries to upload a document he gets the "Error Uploading - Size exceeds maximum permitted" If an admin does the same it works. I have been through the forums and checked permissions and file size limits in php Also checked that phprc is enabled in the environment as one post suggested. Stuation: I have just set up digital signage using XIBO. Amongst other things we wanted to show the school calendar. We use Google apps for the calendar. The simplest method was to create a simple .htm page with the code from Google calendar settings using the agenda layout and then call this page from Xibo. Problem: The calendar cannot be read from a distance as the text is to small. Any ideas how we can alter the size of the text

Just to up date (I hate reading a thread that then end up with no conclusion) I started routing and remote access and everything works. So my dilema now is do I leave well alone or some how remove all the settings so that they allow me to disable RRA and allow the normal firewall to start

Thanks, tried the netsh cmd to no effect. I have just gone throught the event log from start up and very early on I gat the error ipnathlp event id 32009 stating that the firewall etc could not start possibly because RRAS is being used. This service is disabled on my server

No but I think there is still a hold on it from the old isa software if I go in control panel firewall a pop appears saying that it can't as another program is running that might use NAT (ipnat.sys)

Thanks for that but I had allready found that link. The problem is that I have removed isa but the restriction has remained.

I have removed ISA2000 sp2 from the server but I still can't ping it. I needed to promote this as a DC following a ctastrophic failure of my main DC so I need full network functionality. I know that when it was an isa server this is set in the security that it does not respond to pings. So does any one know how I undo that security option now isa has been removed. Thanks in advance

Has any body got a conifigure example for ntlm auth to enable me to compile this for ubuntu. I have successfully got 2.8 running but want to be able to monitor the kids with dansguardian with the need for the squid-dg-squid set up I believe that dg2.10 can do this but it does not come as part of ubuntu. Also I have compiled it without but also it does not run It errors with dansguardian: error while loading shared libraries: libpcreposix.so.0: I know the file is there I just don't know where to tell dg. I am a bit of a newbie to linux Thanks
