schoolcomms support just says use a different browser. Since making the change and actually linking the change to the OU group its working fine I just have this all under the user and browsers settings. Its working but not sure which one actually fixed it in the first place. and added here too - http allowlist and for good measure allow insecure content on these sites

Thanks for the reply I had been trying various settings on the main route ou. What I did not notice is at some point in time inheritance has been disabled so not applying to my staff OU. that has finance happy again

thanks for trying that least we know its not in our config then as such. I have locked everything down to force managed browser here so need to make a few changes so finance can use it for now. Roll on when we can move away from schoolcomms and use a different system.

Hi Has anyone else experienced issues with schoolcomms being blocked by chrome? Schoolcomms support is blaming Google and suggesting using another browser or speak to schools admin (myself). Great idea when staff use Chromebooks being a 1:1 school. On the few windows devices we have we have policies to prevent Edge from being used so that's not a work around either. Problem started Friday afternoon Chrome reports the site as being insecure and blocks app.schoolcomms.com Added URL exception in Google Blocked URL's section but not made a difference yet. I may have missed the obvious so thought I would post on here to see if others have had the same issue and the resolution. Thanks Stu

We have a call flow script so when the lockdown extension is called it plays a mp3 file on the lockdown extension which is a fanvil pa3 unit plugged into our analogue pa system as an input and also pages handsets in offices works well. you have to dial the extension again to stop the alert from playing. The fanvil also acts as PA announcement via a different number so allows 6th form for example not needing to go to main office to do announcements. The lockdown can then be triggered from any extension if required.

Think I/my new tech have upset them as not replied to last few emails. It needs a phone call but wanted more ammo from here hopefully.

Hello edugeeks We have come across an issue that I suspect has been there since we moved to Arbor a 3 years ago. You will want to check your systems too and please feedback to me. A new student this year has a massive long list of food allergies so has come to speak to the kitchen staff. When we checked his record on the Sharp tills it shows nothing at all about any warnings - This is a major issue as could have serious consequences something they think is ok to eat could contain nuts for example it could kill them. The way how Arbor has allergens it lists everything in brackets so for example: No Pluses (Beans, Lentils, Peas, Chickpeas), Dairy Free (No Milk/Yoghurt/Cheese/Butter) This is good as if we have a admin staff member helping out in the kitchen on tills due to kitchen staff illness they will at least know what pulses are if they don't have a clue for example. However Sharp software is just expecting No pulses, No Nuts, Dairy Free etc so very short fields for display warning when a student is at the till. Basically if the data is too long Sharp just ignore it no warnings or anything. Now we have investigated we have about 5-10 students that don't show on the tills at all. This is a low number but not the point. We can manually on the till data edit the students record to have limited text displayed but my point is then each time we have a new student start we would then have to manually check: do they have allergens that need to display on the tills and are they too long. What happens if a student then becomes vegan so that then takes their record over the character limit we don't know when people make a change to dietary requirements as IT. Sharp have said they have never had this at any other school before and can create a custom setup for us but will charge for it (don't know costs). We did not know we had issues before now and students in other year groups are also affected if this new student had not spoken to the kitchen staff we would be in the dark as would not know as you hope it just works. In my mind even if the till displayed an error to say data too long at least you know there is an issue that needs to be investigated. It does not help parents can use the notes field in dietary to say epipen carrier etc so that also tries to sync adding to the length issue. Maybe this is more of an Arbor issue and other tills may have same sort of problems with sync. Do people just manually check every record to make sure it displays (we only have about 160 students on the list out of 1100) but I want to know it works ideally automatically Thanks for you time If anyone has Arbor and Sharp tills please have a look for me and PM or post on here. Most work without issues we ran a report on all students with Dietary requirements and looked for the long ones.

Projector turned up today and wow. Almost silent compared it to the Casio aj-135 we have also just purchased and much brighter. At 2.15 meters away on wall using ml logbook logger Casio reads 440 lx on the white internet page the Samsung is 670lx and on the blue start-up screen the Casio is 330lx and the Samsung is 530lx. Both sets of reading were using the inbuilt meter and using the same size projected image 78" whiteboard size roughly. No filters to clean and colour reproduction much better than the Casio. Will be ordering 3 more next week to replace the old projectors that are end of life. The size of the unit is slightly bigger than an Epson eb-x6 unit and lx levels on the epson for comparrison are 580lx on white internet explorer and 250lx on the blue no input screen. Well worth considering if you need new projectors. Only downside is still only 3 year warranty for edu I believe but most units are the same.

I called a supplier to get a quote on the casio led ones and they said have I looked at the samsung ones? was quoted around the £470 mark for the sp-f10m (very cheap pricing compared to other quotes i have received £620 ish). They have a demo room I could go and see it in use but its a fair distance for me to travel just to have a look at it. The supplier has compared it to a 2200 lumens projector and its just as bright and some reviews I have been reading say the same thing.

Hi i need to replace 4 projectors this year and seen these samsung sp-f10m and look good and reviews seam to be good from what i have read. Do any of you use them in your school or seen them in use? any thoughts? thanks Stuart
