I know what you mean but because it's my promotion and i decide how many points goes on each order, i'll make sure it's as fair as possible. Otherwise, like you said, the smaller schools won't get a fair go

Well the points come out of the profit but I bet you'll still be surprised by it! Even if you wanted to give me a target price (though not everyone likes to work this way). Also, don't forget we do installs, maintenance etc so you could get points that way too. You can see reviews of some of our work in the recommended supplies bit on Edugeek I agree with @dgsmith. It will be good for schools so hopefully it'll be popular

Every point is worth £1 of real money so if you had eg 100 points you could buy a £100 screen or other things totalling the same value. Depending what you need, you'd be surprised how fast points can mount up @elsiegee40 I'd have to review that as it is a tough question. The IT staff wouldn't benefit personally as such, the new school or company would get the points as well as the school that the IT person has just left. I try to be fair to everyone

Ooooooo......tough one. I'd look at that one when it came up but I can't see why I couldn't give the points to the school and to the IT guy at his/ her new place. Everyone's a winner

The points are just a little something to say thanks for the business but the school or business you work for still benefits because you will use the points for equipment or software for the school. Just like club card points at Tesco but for IT in schools

I'd still be the cheapest. These points are me putting prices up at all. Every company like us Misco etc make margin obviously, I'm giving you something back whereas they won't. Try me

I can't do a set "every £10 spent equals 1 point" because everything has different margins so every time I give you a quote, I'll tell you how many points its worth. Regarding beating Insight and the rest of the big boys, I certainly can. I used to work for Insight so I know how they work and I thought that because they're HUGE, they would be the cheapest but they're not. I'm not going to start saying negative things about other companies because that's not what I'm about but it's a common thought! They are good on some things such as when they buy in 500000000000 of one printer or something then 90% of the time, that is the best price you will find. I will always give you my best price first time, these points are just an added bonus that other companies don't do. So I'll beat what you pay and reward you for your business. There are sometimes though when a client comes to me and says "Luke, we can't afford that" or "is there anything you can do?" and I can go beat up the vendor to get a better price for you. That's one of the main differences between me and companies like Insight, I do all the buying whereas they press a button and that's it so they can't negotiate on the price. From feedback on here last week i got the impression that IT guys and gals want things for themselves as well as the best price so by collecting these points, you can get whatever you want. Even if you just want to use me for comparisons, that's fine. I want to show you all where I come in price wise and service wise and hopefully you'll be impressed

I know! The easiest way to do that would be for you to pay the company or school you work for and then we can invoice the school. (I appreciate it might not always be doable)

Hi guys, You may have seen i started a thread last week asking what offers you guys would like to see? Thanks for the feedback I've had a think over the weekend and meetings to discuss and I've come up with Millgate points! How it works is: 1) You ask me for what you want 2) I'll give you a quote 3) I'll add on the email how many points you would get if you placed the order 4) You can either spend them there and then or save them up! You can spend the points on whatever you want from us. Mice, keyboards, screens whatever! I'm going to think up some xmas promos too. I'm not sure yet, it's hard to give £1 =1 point because everything has different margins. I'm going to have a think over the weekend and have a chat on Monday. I'll post on here the ideas first, to get feedback from you all if that's ok? One thing that has stood out from you guys is that you'd like things for your department as well as getting a good deal so I'll make sure that's discussed

How about some kind of Millgate Edugeek "points"? So instead of me guessing with offers you want, giving you x amount of points to use on ram, mice, keyboards etc. I'd have to run it past the powers that be on Monday but what do you think to that?

I agree and the only reason i put it on is because 2 schools recently purchased 30 units and i thought it was a good offer. I'll start and put some cheaper ones on and see if we can throw in a freebie

I agree because by dealing with an account manager rather than just a webiste, you develop relationships and it benefits both parties. An example of this happened the other day when my client order the wrong Oki printers, opened them and only realised when coming to use them. Now, policy is that once opened, unless faulty, we can't return but because the client has history with me, i returned them with no charge! It's not always what you know...
