  1. I get what you mean guys - but allowing staff to alter predicted grades wouldn't sit so well at the moment - it's quite new that we're integrating them more so I think that would be too much too soon for them here!! Thanks for you
  2. Found it! On the results, got to Form > Go To Summary of Responses And you get a lovely charted summary of your questions!!
  3. Does it automatically create these charts or do yo have to do it from the resulting spreadhseet? I can't find any automated analysis... Tom
  4. Wow google docs - will check it out thanks guys...
  5. Hi guys, Just keen to know your views on on-line questionnaire sites/surveys. I'm looking to find a good, flexible, free one which allows me to easily set-up/distribute and export/analyse the results - or even analyses for me! Anyone know any that they can recommend or that they know of? Cheers Tom
  6. Cheers mate!
  7. Hi guys, I've recently figured out why the batch import sometimes omits results for some students. It's because there are a handful of kids who don't have UPNs. I know this might sound odd to most but we're a private school so we don't need them (altough I've ensured all kids now have a UPN to avoid this happening in future). However I currently have dozens of marksheets with results I need to get into SIMS, with loads of kids that (on the exported marksheet) have no UPNs... this makes the automated import miss certain kids. Is there, does anyone know, another way of doing this apart from importing each sheet one by one (which will take a while!) Cheers, Tom
  8. Seems it was something to do with Office 2010, the issues and soutions with which are rather helpfully documented on this forum! Cheers mate. T
  9. Rather frustrating then, that batch import requires you to manually check each sheet; thus completely and utterly undermining the functionality it's supposed to possess in the first place.
  10. LosOjos, I don't suppose I could be particularly fussy and ask for this script to process the files not in alphabetical order, but in Date Modified Order (earliest to latest) or just in the order that they are in the folder to begin with? It's just, I export the XML files for the year group sorted by reg group, so they come out in that order, therefore processing them in that order to convert to Word then allows me to convert to one single Word/PDF file still in reg group order! Just if it's possible, otherwise I can just export separate batches by reg group
  11. Yeah cheers, it's a huge error report since it's about 100 files with about 20 kids in each and about 5 aspects. But it seems if I import manually (one by one) these omissions don't occur. Just wondered if anyone else had this issue.
  12. Splendid my friend: thanks again you're a real help! Tom
  13. Do you have on for XML > XLS, too? And once converted to XLS; do they still go back into SIMS ok?? Cheers T
  14. WOW! You genius!!! Thank you SO much :)
  15. Hi folks, As most of you will be aware, the Individual Reports facility export the Word document reports as XML files. Whilst I appreciate this is for efficiency reasons, many of our staff find it confusing and some machines are not set up properly to open them with the correct software (and we have many Macs, too). So I was wondering if anyone knew of any software to convert them straight to Word dox or even PDFs; just so that the staff can double click on them and not be presented with XML code which scares them and makes them thing everything is broken! Cheers, Tom
  16. Has anyone ever had issues here whereby not all student' data from various spreadheets is imported, for seemingly no valid reason? Cheers Tom
  17. Hello again guys, I'm having trouble here, with "Hide rows with no results" ticked, the rows in my table which feature no results are still being displayed. I'm doing a test at the moment, and only filling in the first row (Art) whose results show; but every other row in my table (ie all other subject names) are being displayed Anyone know why this might be? I fear it's because I'm using Office 2010? Sims 7.114 Windows XP Cheers, Tom
  18. THIS works!
  19. Hi guys, I know there's an option to remove rows of a table that contain no results; but is it possible to remove rows of a table that contain no specific result? For example, I'm creating a table with every subject, after which target data is displayed (imported from spreadsheets). On every row is an Alis prediction, and (for efficiency reasons) every student has a Alis prediction (result) for every subject - even if they don't take it. This means every row will feature an Alis prediction, even though I only want those with the target data to appear. Is there a way to do this? Cheers, Tom
  20. I've discovered I can unprotect the sheets, adjust the cell sizes and reprotect them. Although I have to do this for every marksheet, creating a macro to do it saves time so it can be done in minutes.
  21. Hi folks! Is this possible, or must they be done one by one? Cheers! Tom
  22. Why is there so much inflexibility with marksheets exported from SIMS? In particular, in completing the comments, staff are struggling as the default cell size is too small, and they cant increase the height of the rows in Excel. Does anyone know a workaround (apart from exporting unformatted obviously) Cheers, Tom
  23. Cheers mate appreciate that. Although the ALT + Enter, I've discovered, doesn't actually transfer over onto the Individual Reports in word! Looks like line breaks can't make it from excel to word via SIMS' Ind. Report facility!
  24. Well we basically run two MIS systems for one reason or another, so they have access to our other MIS, just not SIMS Thanks for your advice; will try and steer the staff into typing directly into Excel and use ALT + ENTER! Cheers, Tom
  25. I am, yeah; is that too old? No we use another MIS for staff, vikpaw!
