this is my point exactly in my earlier post (i just could not be bothered to state the bloody obvious) - ranger is a load of crap. a competent engineer who is adept at using AD and GPO's would see absolutely no reason for ranger - you can do everything ranger can with AD and GPOs.
-
oh no, perish the thought...
-
E1uSiV3 then other people should not trash my comments - ranger is for morons, and complete incompetents...
-
if you are competent enough to use group policy and AD, you don't need ranger - a complete waste of money - it's for morons like ajbrittanysspears....
-
@ajbrittanyspears whatever. if you want to waste money on ranger, then go ahead - perhaps a course in stupidity is more up your street. @free448345878789327932: If you think that W2K3 server & AD can do everything that Ranger can do then I guess you never figured out how to use Ranger. I suggest you try reading the Ranger manual or look at the website. Maybe you could go on a course.

while where on this topic, anybody have any views on what wifi models give the best results for this kind of thing. specifically, make and model - belkin, linksys, buffalo?

"When a Technician tells you that they’ll be there shortly, reply in a scathing tone of voice: 'And just how many weeks do you mean by shortly?' – that motivates us." I would simply tell whoever asked me in that tone of voice to 'shove it up the proverbial'.- 4,289 replies

hi, i'm free. i'm seriously thinking of giving up working in IT (having worked in the commercial and education side) to open up a harem - need plenty of punters, and given that i 'know' you all, first time is free. wysiwyg. refreshments available. your notice is drawn to the summary outside the premises - please read (and mind the red light).- 4,289 replies

would this be open to only IT engineers? or teachers also? london venue? i say £5. £5 for a london venue? somebody is not quite with it...
-
i'm encouraging them to porn stars.
-
another person lol at me...nice to see nothing changes...
-
not me - i intend to open up a harem. looking for 'recruits' and punters. prices strictly not open to negotiation - wysiwyg.
-
why on bloody earth would anyone want to buy ranger - it's crap. w3k server and active directory is all you need - does everything ranger does, far better. used ranger in a secondary school (stupid ict co-ordinator was intent on buying it) and had massive slow logon times. spend your money somewhere else. oh, and their support? run by morons from mars.

wish they would create a network edition
-
absolutely, wish they would a network edition which could be managed from the server.
-
i can second clamwin as a great anti-virus also - small footprint, very simple setup (seconds), automatic update.
