You don't need to change your wireless to meraki. You can just use the MDM feature (systems manager) https://meraki.cisco.com/products/systems-manager We use a mixture of apple configurator and meraki, the student iPads are managed by apple configurator and sync and charge trolleys and probably once a term I hook them up to restore settings. You cant lock everything down but we have found the best way is to educate the staff and students and the correct usage. I use maraki to manage the staff iPads if we want to deploy apps over the air, which on the whole works fine but apps don't always install due to users not allowing it or not agreeing to new T&Cs issue by apple.

I have been running office 365 for staff and students for about a year now. We have recently implemented gafe (3 months) with out gmail. Works okay but if you want to use groups in classroom you need the mail side from what I can see. Gads and gaps both running to sync only users and passwords.

We use iPads on a shared device basis at the moment and have implemented gafe. Students have to logged out of gafe when they have finished. To do this we have educated and trained staff prior to students using them to ensure they are confident with the process. We then get the teachers to train the students on how to do this process. So every time a student comes to a different iPad they just need to sign in at the start of the lesson and then sign out at the end. The first few times are tricky for the students but they easily grasp it after practice. We are a small secondary 300 with very mixed ability students with different languages.

Hello, We are currently running office 365 for our email system and we are syncing it with active directory using dir sync. I'm now investigating into using Google drive (Google apps) for our iPad deployment can we run the Microsoft sync tool and the Google sync tool with out them interfering with each other. We don't want to use the google mail option as user are not familiar with this. I have looked into using one drive on the iPad but not a lot of the apps integrate with it. If anyone has done anything similar and want to share your experiences that would be most helpful.

They need to verify they own the domain with Microsoft, so they have to create an TXT record that Microsoft states so when they check they can actually see they are in control of the domain.

Hello, We have deployed air on numerous laptops around school but we are having an issue when playing videos from the camera roll, where the laptop displays “airserver cannot play this video using Microsoft direct show. Microsoft direct show does not support this format”. everything else with airplay and air server works fine, has anyone came across this issue and have a solution. I have installed the recommend software (haali splitter and FFDShow) and the latest version (2.1), the iPads are IOS8.0 and IOS 8.0.2. Laptops windows 7 x64. It works fine when mirroring to a mac.
