I agree with a lot of what people are saying here, I would go for intel mobo, western digital drives, antec case/psu as all of these get 3 year warranties. Try and get a gfx card with a lifetime (10years usually) warranty too, then if it starts whistlingat you in 3 years you can get another. An 80gb SSD will be plenty for your OS and editing software. Have a raid for storage and backup. DDR3 ram is silly cheap at the moment so get some with a long warranty and get as much as you can, 16gb is more than enough. Ahhh, always fun building a shiny new PC!!

I went to manfest, I mean Fanfest! In 2008, where I played a very 'beta' version of WIS. It was promised that it would be released in a year. They finally get round to it now and only release the captains quarters. More-so, you are forced to either goto your quarters everytime you dock or stare at a door instead. Many people have disabled the feature immediatley, no more spinny ship. It doesn't make any sense either, you're a pod pilot and spend most if not all your time in a pod, you wouldn't get out of your pod and wonder round the station while your ships refit it would all be done from within your pod. There is talk of an 'unpod' button sometime in the future. On to nex. Nex has made thousands of people cancel their subs. There is a lengthy post on the forums to this affect. After the leaked internal mail titled 'greed is good' loads more people ragequitted. They have since said there will never be game altering items for sale in the nex market, everybody remains unshure. ok, last bit.. Turrets, the turrets have been upgraded, god only knows how much time they have wasted on this! Yeah, they look cool for about 5 seconds until you zoom right out and get on with the game. Why oh why oh why can they not pool some of this energy into sorting out some of the games more important bugs/problems. rant over. been playing eve for a few years and now back after a year's break. Still enjoying it, just as always facepalming at some of ccps decisions!

We now have moved over to the NEC projectors, they get a 3 year warranty. If one goes wrong they send a new one out by courier next day and then you swap out and put the old one in the case and they pick it up the day after! 6 month bulb warranty too. I do like the smart dlp projectors lots, no fans = no dusty filters to clean! Looking forward to cheaper LED projectors and 15000 hour lamp lifes edit: We also changed all the brackets to ones that look like spiders, they'll hold pretty much any projector. Well worth it.

Looks good, I would imagine the survey will paint a very different picture than the telecom companies 'estimated' coverage. For example there are many black spots in our town and the surrounding areas, not just for 3G but total signal loss. Hope someone is making an iPhone app too.

hmm favourite parts, thats a tricky one. I really like even fights, they dont happen often but are good when they do. I used to love blapping ships on a lowsec gate we used to camp in Ihakana all the time. Sniper apocs instapopping frigates/pods, we had remote sensor booster ships and could instalock stuff too. mmm I like moving my 6.2bil JF full of a few bils worth of stuff into 0.0 and busy station systems, you get a good rush out of that. Cynoed into a system the other day only to have a couple of dreads and four carriers drop in right ontop of me! I docked up safe and they even left my cyno alt alone. phew!

If he is into his photo/film or any kind of sports you could probably get him a GoPro for that sort of money. They do a couple of different models now. I've had mine for a year now and have filmed all sorts, mountain biking, paintball, motorcyling. They're waterproof too.

I'd recommend Antec Psu's, they get a 3 year warranty. We use/sell them in the shop exclusively unless people want a real budget replacement. The same goes for mobo's Intels own ones get a great warranty and rarely go wrong. That Corsair ram is mad cheap at the moment it's great!! You can throw a cheap passive GT210 or something similar in for about £40 and even play most games.

This made me chuckle the first time I did it, luckily the projector was ok.

I have an Ego 09 for sale on the p8ntballer forums. Looking for around £460. Comes with allen key set and some lube. I'll be really sad to see this go but I'm being punished with bills at the moment and just can't afford to do any ballin at the moment. I usually do them the honour of sending a message that says change you password please. Lulzsec recently released 60k usernames/passwords in a txt file, the three that we picked at random and tried all worked on facebook and were very short, simple passwords. People really don't make it hard for people to 'hack' into thier accounts!!
