  5. Local DNS cache? Lasts for a day by default, I think.
  6. This. Check this.
  7. Great - let us know how you get on.
  8. In that case, you should have no issue changing the mtu value on the QNAP to 9000. You can always change it back!
  9. Indeed - 1500 isn't a jumbo frame. I suspect that might be causing some performance issues. 9000 is a more common value, but make sure your switching infrastructure can support it.
  10. Jumbo frames on the QNAP?

  12. Why not just use Group Policy Preferences to create a shortcut to an small-ish mp3 file that's on a share somewhere?
  13. Not really much trouble. It's completely manageable by GPO, if you're introducing it and a bit worried about issues, just nominate a group of machines to be guinea-pigs and just switch it on there. Test, test, test and then introduce to the rest of your domain/estate.
  14. They'll be fine. I think the default is something like 60 days.
  15. "wusa /uninstall /kb:4499164 /quiet" This should help if you can't find the update in add/remove programs...
  16. @themightymrp - we've seen both - some machines stuck in a loop, then it's a case of booting to safe mode and removing the update. Other machines have just been stuck on "applying updates" for a couple of hours before finally getting to a logon screen.
  17. Marking the update as "Approved for uninstall" in WSUS and then using our RMM tool to remove the update.
  18. Nothing much to add other than we've observed the same issue - seems to be caused by KB4499164.
  19. Are you guys running Sophos by any chance?
  20. You should try Autotask...
  21. It is a Layer-3 switch, but it's an edge switch, not really suitable for use as a core unit. If money is tight have a look for a refurbished unit - something like a HP Procurve 5406zl is available pretty cheaply.
  22. *** BUMP *** Position available due to internal promotion.
  23. Re-enable it using Group Policy: User Config\Admin Templates\System\Prevent Access To registry Editing Tools="Disabled"
  24. ***BUMP*** Second position still available.
