Sounds like the new job has more going for it. If you are subject to a probation period you may be able to leave straight away. It's better for the school if you leave sooner rather than later as they can probably still contact another candidate and offer them the position. The longer you leave it the harder it will be for them to do that. You don't need to feel bad, this is business and stuff like this happens. Don't go into too much detail and don't tell them you had an interview - you were obviously job hunting as you have only just joined so just be honest (up to a point) and tell them another job you applied for and were interviewed for has offered you a position and it is closer to home which is better for your child care/transport needs. That is a perfectly legitimate reason to leave.

@mattlynch - stop viewing the logo as two separate icons and view them as either side or the outline of a person. It looks like the torso of a naked pregnant lady with nothing above the lower chest or below the bottom swell of her 'bump'. I think it is more likely that the colour of XBox was chosen BECAUSE it was in the logo, not the other way around - the colours were there in windows 3.1 and I assume they were chosen from the limited colour palatte of early OSs. I expect they'll eventually have another product that is themed Yellow to match. Until then they have a 'spare' colour.

It looks like the sort of logo you make in a hurry using drawing objects in word to represent the windows logo when your mad skillz in paint don't quite stretch to a wavy flag... The flag is iconic and as familar and loved as the Apple fruit and the Linux Penguin... When I ride into battle against the segway-mounted Apple corps waving my sharpened array of restore cds I'm going to want my battle standard to inspire my bloodlust. Yes. Boys will be boys and what he gets up to in the privacy of his hotel room is his business. Would you photograph and publish photos of him asleep? Or having relations with his significant other? Of course not. If he was playing Naked Billiards in a public location - such as a bar or club, then fair game, but to invade the privacy of his room is not on. Just because he's in the public eye doesn't give people the right to do that. I agree completely. If he was a normal person he'd be able to go out to the pub and get lashed, maybe get arrested for public indecency, stumble home and then wait for the hangover. As a Prince he can't do that. If he wants to go to a club for a drink he's got security guards and death threats to worry about - that's not fair! If I couldn't go down the pub for a quiet drink or out into town for a night out, or out to the local curry house with the boys from work I think I'd go nuts! I certainly don't believe he should be hauled up for bringing a profession into disrepute if his activities were in private. Would you discipline a person for 'bringing the profession into disrepute' for their sexual preferences in the privacy of their home? Of course not! If they got caught in a public place then fair game, but behind closed doors - hotel room or otherwise, what you do is up to you. Just because someone unscrupulous videoed it doesn't mean he was wrong for doing it. Lets be fair - naked billiards is hardly scandalous is it really? It's the same as a person trusting their partner enough to let him or her video them having sex then posting it on the internet! What an awful thing to have happened. Silly Harry. Choose your friends better next time!

Definitely take it to the scrappies - we did exactly the same and got £130 back for some piping and fittings (the rads were new so we just did the pipework, not the whole lot and we didn't have a boiler).

It is a shame is hasn't been implemented on all domains. Although from a web filtering perspective, perhaps this is for the best as it would be a nightmare to try to control. Despite the less polished special effects, I agree. Most of my 'guilty pleasure' films are from the 80s. Crocodile Dundee, Romancing the Stone etc. Star Wars is the only exception to this rule being 1977 and all that, but V and VI were in the 80's so that defo counts.

The current reporting system is very customisable, depending on how much time you want to spend with it as it can be quite high level and complex. There are a lot of built in reports that can be tweaked and edited really easily. It is worth bearing in mind though that the current system uses a Mysql database and obviously your reporting needs will place a high level of demand on the box, so it is important to consider a dedicated reporting box with suitable hardware to cope with the demands of this. We are in the process of completely overhauling the reporting system and at present I don't know what effect this will have on the future customisability of reports as the project is still in the very early stages. The aim is to make reporting more efficient and to improve data transfer from multiple child nodes, although how this will affect your reporting needs I cannot say. I certainly believe we will aim to keep as much functionality in the reporting system as possible as a number of our customers have similar requirements to yourselves re: reporting. Regarding AD integration, it depends how much AD integration you want. If you want to build policies around specific AD security groups, then Smoothwall does this with bells on. We also support eDirectory, apple OpenDirectory, RADIUS, various Linux distro directories etc. We are also just about to release Kerberos authentication. It is not in the product at the moment but should be released to all customers as an installable update by the end of August. I can't answer whether or not it plays nice with Aerohive, although if you contact our sales representatives they can arrange for a Free-of-charge evaluation license to be issued for you which you can pop into VMWare or Virtualbox (HyperV is not really supported as there are issues with NIC drivers) for testing purposes. If Aerohive supports Kerberos auth then this might be the best way forward as if you choose to use NTLM you may need to bypass authentication as many applications do not support it properly.

Now see Carrie made me sad - when I watched that I didn't find it at all scary - I just found it very very unfortunate. I had similar weird issues with our Virgin Superhub and it turns out there was a bug in the firmware. It has since been corrected but it shows up very strangely. That being said, definitely disable power management on the NIC and try updating the wireless tools. IIRC the Toshiba tools are a bit pants. We also have issues with band - if you have it on 5GHz some older drivers really hate it. We had to drop ours back down to 2.4Ghz because of compatibility issues with LeBoyfriend's laptop.
