[bromcom] Batch add email address to new students
Bromcom_Hus replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
Hi Kenny, Yes there is - if you go to Students List page > Actions > Manual Data Import - then you can provide a CSV file with UPN or Admission number included. To make your life easier to create the template, you can use "Manual Data Export" option to export email addresses out in CSV file, which then you can use this file as template. You can also see more guidance via: https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-do-a-manual-data-import-and-manual-data-export/- 1 reply

Hi Tim, Please see my comments for the questions you put through; This should not cause any issues as these are independent from each other. There is no possibility of clash. All staff and student accounts will be managed by Bromcom MIS. If an account needs to be created manually before the date student or staff joins, then adding the created Google email address into Student or Staff records as "Work Email Address" - you will avoid any clash or duplications that sync will create. Once a day between 1am to 6am Not sure why you would need to do this, but yes you can deactivate/create any of the Bromcom generated accounts.

[bromcom] MIS Test System - set users to sign in using Office 365?
Bromcom_Hus replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
Hi Kenny, Clicking "CSV" export button at the top of the table gives you the CSV file with the staff pre-populated, you just need to populate "Single Sign On Account" column and use that file for the import. I hope it makes sense. -

[bromcom] MIS Test System - set users to sign in using Office 365?
Bromcom_Hus replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
Hi All, Users can self-register, but also their is option to IMPORT the SSO account logins as behalf of them. If you go to Config > Setup > Security Settings - and click "View Accounts" under Single Sign On, you will be presented a pop-up, which provides you an IMPORT option under "Show Accounts without Single Sign On" - after this, users can login to the system with their own Google or Microsoft Account - without need to know their BROMCOM account details. I hope this makes sense. -
[bromcom] New look UI coming Friday 14th Feb 2020
Bromcom_Hus replied to timbo343's topic in MIS Systems
Hi timbo343, Previously we had a logic, if user has access to 50 menu items or less, we show them in one page, I think we can bring that back. I will discuss with the teams internally. -
[bromcom] New look UI coming Friday 14th Feb 2020
Bromcom_Hus replied to timbo343's topic in MIS Systems
- Sorry to hear that, generally users initially they do not like things changed, and they can be negative sometimes, however please do not hesitate to send your specific feedback to me via PM - Screen limits not fitting correctly: Can you please make sure they use minimum 1280 x 1024 resolution - as all pages are tested with that minimum resolution - and please make sure "ZOOM" is not set in BROWSER - sometimes users do not realise they turn on ZOOM without them realising. - blue left menu is on top of other page items: This is a BROWSER CACHE issue - which Google does not clear cache sometimes for some machines, we suggest you advise the users to press "CTRL + F5" which forces latest CSS and JS files downloaded. -

[bromcom] New look UI coming Friday 14th Feb 2020
Bromcom_Hus replied to timbo343's topic in MIS Systems
Hi All, New User Interface can be TURN ON by a switch at the top of the page. By default is OFF, and users can choose to switch themselves ON whenever they feel it's the right time, unless School Admin Team enforces the option for all their users, as there is a global option to turn it on. This New UI Switch Option will be available for next 2 release. Any questions, please feel free to contact. Thanks Hus -
[bromcom] Historical Record of Pupil Premium Eligibility Bug
Bromcom_Hus replied to RootsSchImp's topic in MIS Systems
Pupil Premium filters are date range based within Bromcom's Built-In Analysis Screens for Attendance, Assessment, Behaviour and Student Breakdown. I suggest raising case with Bromcom Support Team with examples, so we can look into this for you. -
Hi Ditto, It's purely depends what purpose you will use the GMAIL account for. If you will use to schedule reports and email to the users, then using GMAIL is not a problem at all. If you are planning to inform parents for their student absences, again this would not be a problem, as number of emails that system will send is minimal and not frequent. However, if you are planning to use to communicate with PARENTS on daily basis with mass email campaigns or announcements, then this will be an issue with GMAIL, as neither GMAIL or MICROSOFT mail accounts are designed for those purposes. For bulk/mass and frequent email deliveries, generally email relay services are used for guaranteed and speed delivery. GMAIL and MICROSOFT has many limitations, i.e. sending email speed, number of emails, connection numbers, etc. Most of our customers, who are using our COMMUNICATIONS module for MASS EMAIL ACTIONS, they use proper 3rd party email relay services (like mailjet, sendgrid, etc.) or they purchase email relay service through us with monthly quota. I hope above helps. Regards, Huseyin

Hi All, Just to be clear, we do not charge any schools or third parties to use/consume our Read APIs, as we do not incur any development costs. Any Third Party can register to our Partner Support Programme, and they are supported for FREE of charge and they can consume our APIs for FREE of charge. However, any integration which Bromcom implements, that incurs development cost, there are charge for it as Bromcom needs to continue to maintain the integration code and implement the any changes that third party product enforces us within the timeframe they enforce on us. Unfortunately, ParentPay is one of the integration we ended up implementing ourselves. We had number of attempts and requests to ParentPay to consume our APIs to retrieve the data they require, but due to their busy development schedules, this did not happened for years. There are still option within MIS to schedule a report and periodically upload manually to ParentPay, we are not taking that away. Regards, Huseyin

Hi Howsono, Yes, all reports can be scheduled to run periodically with predefined parameters and date range. These scheduled reports can be saved into Document Management System or send as an email attachment to specific group of people. I hope this clarifies your query. Please PM me if you require any further assistance.
