Hello Best way is to create an new VLAN and create a new WLAN Called Staff BOYD and allow that address range different filtering on your firewall. Yes you can also use AD groups on the controller to allow only staff to use that new WLAN. Hope this helps. Adam

I know you dont want it managed! But you are putting money down the loo if you need 3 aps for 30 laptops! One word for you RUCKUS! One AP will handle 60 laptops! You only need one AP in about every other room!! Bloomin great stuff! School coverage for about £12,000 You can see mine in action! Adam

Yes I will kill the AP's! Make sure you have the VLAN's all setup before you move it to the new ports! Should only be out for a few mins while you run to the new location! Adam

Hello We have over 100 of these RM ones here! Bloomin pain in the back side! Left mouse clicker wears out after a few months student use, faster for staff! Also the keyboards have the be pressed very hard for keys to work, no good for touch typers. Rm have now started to replace 27 to covers and I have a new box of 40 keyboards in my office but that makes no difference! Has any one else had this problem? RM say we are the only school but there are so many out there we cant be alone! I suggest you to feel the left clicker button on your machines you will soon see what I mean! Adam

Why spend money on Ghost?!? We use CloneZilla here! Its amazing! We have it saving the images to a NAS box! Its a small bootable CD which you can also setup to boot from a standard memory stick! It now takes us about 15mins to rebuild a staff laptop! And what more its FREE!!

If you are worried about coverage and excellent logon speeds with wifi, you need to get Ruckus! Its amazing and knocks socks of HP, DLINK and even Cisco! Its great value! We have it here!

If you are worried about signal drop out forget Cisco and go for Ruckus! The signal is so strong and very very reliable, its so strong the system can see 10 rouge AP's which happen to be people living around the school! I saw the guys from Net-Ctrl at BETT and their one Ruckus AP was out performing all the others at the show! It had a constant db of at least 60, the rest were all dropping out!

Ruckus will talk straight back to AD no need for a Radius server!

Hi We have just installed Ruckus in our school over Cisco! Its far cheaper and offers better coverage. We are using it with 30 Asus minis and about 80 staff laptops and its not breaking out into a sweat! We only needed 30 AP's and Cisco people wanted about 40 to cover our school! We are in Felixstowe so it may be to far to travel to see us! Adam

We use http://exoscripts.com/exohelpdesk Web based so customers can log calls any time! We have some staff think off things at home so we can respond 1st thing in the morning! You can allocte tickets to staff members in your IT team its very good! We love it! Adam

Hello I have set up this in Deben http://mrbs.sourceforge.net/ Its great you can create differnet periods and rooms. The olny downside to this that it can not beconfigured to add multiple books every other week for schools with a 2 week timetable system! I am running this on Lunix with PHP and MySQl Adam
