Digital Blue Microscopes do these work with Windows 7? Have installed these but they are recognized as a scanning device how the doobies do you get them to work? Software throws up errors and freezes. Ideas much appreciated. Perhaps the Weee recycling depot for these little fellas!

@sparker How big is your school, what key stage are you?

Hi all, Advice, recommendations and needed here please. I have already worked out more or less what we need just throw in some ideas please. We have More than 200 wireless devices. 100-130 desktop wired devices. Scenario: Old building at some point will be gutted completely of anything I.T. related from cabs to cables. Old building will then have extensive building works and extensions. 5 buildings in total of which only one will have works done. Locations of servers has come up as a query. I have stated as an option that the 5 servers would ideally live central on the site and all fibres will branch out from that point. How many data points? How many dedicated power sockets? Any regulations that come with this? Cab and cabling: Low smoke cat ? Cab size depth? Switch backbone? Any regulations here? Classrooms:KS1 /Nursery How many data points? Interactive options? What are the key points i should be focusing on? Any info would be appreciated.

Hi, Thanks for the email contact much appreciated. I have all sorts of issues due to a power outage,we need to update our firmware on all AP's. Strange when dlink appears as the wireless then disappears. Not sure if it is load balancing. Would like to have as much configured as possible then have the configuration saved and exported. Thanks for the offer of technical support. Hamzah

Hi all, Could anyone help? In need of someone with a good amount of knowledge to reconfigure and update our D'Link wireless AP's and controller,i honestly don't think we are making the most of the d'link system. We had a problem not so long ago when the controller lost all configuration, wireless was reconfigured but not as we would like it. So the question is would anyone like to provide a contact number for me of a company or an individual who could possibly sort out this system? Thanks for looking.

Interactive Projectors VS Interactive Whiteboards
MrPstv replied to andyturpie's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
We use Dell interactive projectors bundled with software, hdmi(handy for those ipad thingys),ultra short throw and a crisp picture, replacement pens are expensive, but overall compared to having a board and projector installed this to us was the way to go! Supplied and installed by the nice chaps from XMA. Installed they look the part and they are suitable for our Primary School especially if your going down the ipad route. Only gripe with some staff was not being able to use a certain branded interactive software .Updating bundled software sorted out some compatiblity issues with flip charts. All staff seem to be happy :-) all in all a good result. -
Just tested the Vitai 8800 and i have to say they have a very good range and quality was good. The issue i have is if we spend a tad over a £1000 say on these Vitai 8800 and they dont last six months it's my head on the block. I appreciate the feedback from you guys!!!! Motorola is tempting as they have been around for donkeys years, i am also swayed to get the Vitai 8800's as they ticked all the boxes, but not sure how long these have been on the market.

Update on problem, this situation mentioned above seems to be related to profiles,as it is not a particular user account or specific machine , random user1 logs on to machineA and no internet using internet explorer(firefox fine as long as proxy settings are entered) random user2 logons to machineA internet ok using internet explorer, random user1 logs on to machineB and internet explorer ok ,random user2 logons to machineB and internet explorer cant connect to internet. Arrggghhh!! Proxy settings tab!!!! Any ideas ?? Please:frusty:

Try the settings within active primary as i have stumbled across this problem, make sure all resources(and the like) tab is highlighted and this should sort out your problem. i found that when logged on as an administrator all is fine! as a user it defaults to not sharing the resource folder. I bet you have tried this already !!!

Damage is only an issue with 1 to 1's,we have 90 ipads that go home with the children at weekends and holidays, problem is siblings causing damage,3 cracked screens and 2 faulty volume buttons. No end of faulty damaged chargers and leads.Odd occasions we might have a few os issues but nothing a hard reset cant fix.If the pupils are carrying the ipads(15 shared ipads) around site then they will be put in a leather type case to minimise damage if dropped, for storage they are kept in a sync charging case. Those 90 ipads that the pupils take home they are stressed all the time to keep them in the cases provided.
