We're with Janet & I wouldn't want it any other way after seeing all the work they do in the background to keep the network safe & secure. If you're a college I'd suggest you get in touch with JISC and get the rep for the area to come in and talk to you. It could be that you're missing out on lots of other services as it's not JUST an internet connection.

We looked at Nutanix last year and yes it was very good but SOOOOO expensive. Also looked quickly at Stone Computers solution which is called Integrum now. Ended up with a Dell / Equallogic solution

Have a chat with James @ Datajar about JSS (https://www.datajar.co.uk/) brilliant bit of software that we use to manage our 1400 ipads all via DEP enrollment .

Networking between them is very important. We have separate networks for Storage, Live migration / Cluster communication and main VM connections onto the network (6 network ports in total as use multipath for storage). Some really good how to's on YouTube etc. Once you have the servers clustered you can move them onto the CSV & then make them high availability via the Failover cluster manager

We went Ricoh on a fleet of 8 & 2 larger devices in the print room. Integrated with PapercutMF & "Followme"and they just work. Have an @Remote box so they call an engineer automatically & order toner when we replace them. If you're in Hampshire / south coast area drop me a line & I'll put you in contact with our account manager who is really good.

We have a pair of Watchguard Devices that are working well.

DPI is a complete nightmare with devices you don't own / have control of. When you think about it DPI is flawed really as you're breaking something that should be unbreakable :-/ We've got Watchguard & have lots of fun with DPI but talking to others with other systems they're having just as many problems.

Do you have a proxy server set in IE / Chrome ?? I seem to remember we had problems back when we used a sideways proxy

Are you signed up for google apps ?? I so just get the users to login to Google & then there bookmarks etc will sync to the cloud & then available where ever they are even at home. This is how we manage it as we're a Google site

I read a little while back that M$ advice this As a general Rule with HyperV allow 4 Virtual processor (VP’s) per physical / logical processor (LP’s) with a max of 8 VPs / LP So you should be able to allocate 48 cores in total or 96 if low usage machines. Personally I stick to the 4 to 1 ratio :-)
