The scare mongering has begun throughout the country, our HT had an email from a "professional" in another lea, who said that a friend of her mums who is a teacher (i kid you not) said "it had been rumored that by accessing this website and downloading free resources the owner could then access any images on your computer" I agree that the site should not be accessed etc but how long before we cant see the wood from the trees and teachers start running around saying the "sky is falling" as they have used sparklebox on their home pc's?

Tried:- in terminal with drutil tray open drutil tray eject or Reboot depressing the Mouse and it should eject or leave it in the dvd for approx 10 mins unattended it should auto-eject or Fold a piece of card and gently wedge/hold the dvd from spinning, on booting the mac should forcibly eject it as it wont spin. or (and I have tried this) Holding the Mac with the dvd drive facing down (were going to get gravity to help) press eject and gently shake the Mac and hope the dvd comes out. After that I suppose you will need to dismantle it Good luck

Finally sorted it. Under distinguished name I used [email protected] and it worked. Wish I had tried it at about 11am this morning!!!! Si

Ok Head & Brick wall coming up. Tried a new ldapuser same issue. Still cannot bind. When I run the auth_ldap_sync_users.php via command line I think I should get PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\Moodle1.8\server\php\ext\php_pdf.dll' - The specified module could not be found. in Unknown on line 0 Configuring temp table Creating temp table mdl_extuser Connecting to ldap... + 4 users Got 4 records from LDAP No updates to be done User entries to add: 4 Inserted user moodle.student1 id 3 Inserted user moodle.student2 id 4 Inserted user moodle.teacher1 id 5 Inserted user moodle.teacher2 id 6 But all I get is C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.PPSERVER>C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.2.9-2\php. exe -f C:\wamp\www\Joomla\moodle\auth\ldap\auth_ldap_sync_users.php Configuring temp table Creating temp table mdl_extuser Connecting to ldap... Then it closes. I can telnet the Ldap/DC on port 389 so I can connect fine. So it is the authentication process thats falling over but I am all out of ideas now Any suggestions appreciated. PHP ver = 5.2.9-2 Mysqp = 5.1.36 Apache 2.2.11

Thats what I like to see, team bulding and drinking yourself to a standstill, and then to sit down and continue drinking (without the aid of your hands) is truly impressive

I am just abut to install Moodle fr the 1st time, we are still waiting for our LA to get their act together so in the mean time we thought we would give it a bash ourselves. We currently use Joomla as our website (hosted ourselves, as will Moodle be) So I want integration as much as possible. Are there any Gotcha's I need to look out for, or is it just a case of Putting the Moodle folder into a subdirectoy of our Joomla install and configuring from there? I thought a simple link from our Website to the Moodle instance would work ok? Anyone run into any problems, or give advice on plugins/bots I can use to help the integration? Thanks Si

Our LA has just changed from using ISA 2000 to ISA 2006 to supply our Websence filtered Internet. I (and many other schools in our LA) have been using Python and NTLMaps (setup locally) so he children?staff do not have to enter a username and passsword to get onto the web. Problem is that ISA 06 and Ntlmaps do not want to play ball, have tried various versions of Python and Ntlmaps, played with the settings etc but it just wint work correctly. I.e. it will allow you to get to bbc.co.uk but click on a link and it just stalls. (logs give 407 errors) Anyways i'm looking for a proxy authentication replacement, I know I can attempt to install and configue ubuntu and squid, but is there anything else I could be using, I dont need the web filtering/cachine abilities of squid/dansguardian I just want an easy life and not to try to confuse staff with yet another Username and password to remember. Any idea's? Si

Thanks mate, cant get iis6 and PHP to play ball, so going to try with my Server 2008 box and iis7

I am revisiting Joomla and IIS6 as a solution to our school website. Had issues before as had Exchange on same server and IIS wasn't playing ball. Exchange is now happily running on another server so IIS is free. I have gone through the whole php/mysql/joomla install and now get CGI errors when trying to load the website. After a bit of research on some Joomla forums the suggestion wasd to install FastCgi. Did that and now get FastCgi timeouts. Am about to give up on IIS and install Wamp, but my iis is also used for WSUS admin and WebDav to allow access to cetain folder from home. What issues will I have with installing Wamp along with the other services I currently run? Server 2003 PHP = 5.3.1 MySql = 5.0 Joomla - Edugeek 1.5 Si
