  1. Ask him for money to replace all the mice then
  2. I have done this at a number of schools now, on the old server run through the migration executable with the advanced option box ticked, this will allow you to export the database to a file (just seems to dettach the database and move the file where ever you want but I can't be sure if it does more). Then on the new server run though the September installable release, once done go to the setups folder and run the migration executable, again with the advanced option box ticked, instead of searching for a sql db to migrate tell it to look for a file (the same file you exported on the old server). Its worth mentioning that if you do it this way you will need to dettach and delete the blank db that is created on the new server by running the installable release otherwise you get an error saying it already exists. Hope this helps.
  3. I'm not sure that they got released because there were conflicts, in the us father ted they wanted to tone down father jack and in fawlty towers they actually wanted to take basil fawlty out of it completely!
  4. yet another british sit-com that is going to be brutalised by the americans, red dwarf, father ted, fawlty towers, the list goes on
  5. I still have my old Game Gear, really was much better than the game boy for its time, the only thing that let it down was the battery life, 6 AA batteries would get you 30 minutes of gameplay Of course 30 minutes was all you needed when you were playing as the fastest thing alive Sonic > Any Other Game Character Ever!
  6. oooo yes, remember playing that on good ol' windows 1.1 First machine I ever had was a C64 with over 100 tapes, the joy of sitting there for 15 minutes staring at a screen that could potentially give you an epileptic fit whilst the game was loading, happy days. Recently bought myself a Nintendo DS and have manage to get a version of SCUMMVM working on that, so I now have Sam and Max Hit The ROad (absolute classic), Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion ready for play at a moments notice.
  7. Thanks for the reply Phil
  8. Just tell let everyone else know the answer to my question:
  9. Thanks for the reply Phil, does that mean that primary school can install the November and December upgrade whilst still on MSDE?
  10. I really liked the first series but I really am concerned about this new one, especially when they some how managed to fit a two ronnies joke into the show, in the middle of a fight scene no less! Don't get me wrong I love the two ronnies but theres a time and place for their jokes, namely in their show, not robin hood!
  11. Was reading an interesting article about this yesterday http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2007/10/03/sony-calls-world-plus-dog
  12. Capita now say that if your a secondary you need to be on SQL2005 before the november upgrade or if your a primary before the december upgrade. No idea why they changed their mind but thats where they stand on the matter at the moment i believe.
  13. Sidewinder, i have seen this at one other school were after the upgrade for some reason the workstations upgraded to 6.91 not 6.85. 6.91 is the version of fms used after your fms db has been converted to run on SQL2005/express. If you havn't actually converted your fms db you might as well just uninstall fms on the affect workstations and reinstall it using the appropriate cd, it should work ok after that. The reason why it was asking you to locate the FMSconnect.ini file is because it thinks you are on the SQL version of fms and like sims .net it requires a connect.ini file Hope this helps
  14. truely a brilliant piece of software, i remember spending quite a bit of time on that one
  15. Doubtful, it depends how much of anal retentive the bloke operating it was.
  16. This has already happened. http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/09/18/1633248&from=rss I actually meant in real life, but mocking him digitally is a good chuckle too
  17. I was reading yet another article about the famous lawyer from the states and just wondered what does everyone here make of this ideiot? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Thompson_(attorney)#Video_games_and_juveniles
  18. Will SYSMAN be getting any royalties for his work then?
  19. All you would have to do is set the laptop up as a bog standard standalone and use the training data (make believe school/students) that you canget from Capita.
  20. Has anyone had any experience with this software? We have recently been looking into using CentraStage and then heard of this as an alternative. I was just wondering whether anyone was actively using it and what sort of feedback they have to offer.
  21. Of all the logos thus far SYSMAN's is definitely the best, nice, imple and prosseional looking. I just don't see this fixation people have with retaining the evil eyes and the horns, its hardly professional and has nothing to do withIT really. Kudos to SYSMAN, thats a nice logo, would look good on anything and that little computer pic at the side could be used as the browser thumbnail icon.
  22. all this talk of sueing people you'd think we were living in america
  23. DreddMetal Can be seen lately playing Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, loved that game on the original playstation
  24. of course a lot of women only manage 2 out of those 3 Congrats btw, we'll be seeing more midnight postings from you when you've been awoken from you sleep by the little nipper then?
  25. Have you tried stopping and starting the sqlanywhere service? I know it shouldn't make a difference if its already running but you never know. As for the database file directory on the workstations i've never understood it myself, but if its anything other than what it is on the server it throws a wobbly.
