in control pannel under network options there will be a wireless section if you click on it depending on version of windows (depends on location) it will list all the wireless networks simply remove it from there and it will stop but it only normaly gets added to the list if they have sucsessfully connected to it before in which case i would seriously be looking into reviewing your wireless security policys. i would think abought going to enterprise level security through a radius server if thats not what your curently doing.

i have played with the normal asterix configuration on a ubunto machine and its verry versatile and once you have a user working it just simply a case of copying there config and changing the finer details such as extention number the onlything i had an isue with was the codex used by the software virsions of the Voip but it was just a simple addition of one line saying that it does come with a web interface ready for changing settings however i havent used it

it might be worth trying to enforce that one ploicy and have a look through any others that may be conflicting with it.

do all of your other policys work as it may be a problem with win 7 pulling group policy off the server you could try a "gpupdate /force /boot" if not it may be a problem with OU's or posibly a problem by which it needs to be inforced

well i would be concernd abought static build up in a hand held hover as it is not grounded :s. and it may be worth taking the bulb out and blowing the dust out rather than in this works well for us. and it may also be worth checking the fans are running corectly.

in my limited experiance the dust filters do not cach all of the dust and other vents and holes etc allowing dust and muck in so it may be a problem with large amounts of dust actualy in the projector colecting and stoping air flow or causing over heating might be worth giving it a good blow out with compresed air. thats what we do because other wise our equipment gets verry cloged even when we clean filters regularly. We clean ours abought once a term unless its in a perticularly dusty place such as tech.

this might be a daft question but you have checked that the share and folder permisions are correct throught the directorys from the share so a user can actauly get to and read data from the location of your redirection

we have found that our main domain controler was spitting out packets with ilegal checksums and curupted data we turned of chimney and tcp ofloading and it has scince stoped transmitting bad packets this has helped but we are still seing machines rebooting with error codes 1004,1005 as well as the following error dumps. some of the cisco smart swiches may be worth looking into some come with spf spaces so that fiber moduals can be added and they are at quite a low price. i only know because we have been looking for a replacement swich over the last few days. we have orderd one but have yet to take dilivery so dont as of yet have any idea on preformance.

hi we seem to be having a simaler issue on boath of our 2008 servers one is enterprise 2008 and the other is the R2 version we also have a 2003 running in the background for AV etc that does not display the errors. in our case it seems to cause a large number of winlogon errors and even cause machines to reboot we have turned off chimeneying and upgraded the drivers and installed all of the relivent upgrades and paches what is strange is that the problem gets worse the further from the servers you go. we have tested the network as much as we can and even run packet captures to try and find a solution. but we think the problem is server based as it moves from machine to machine any help or advice would be greatly apreciated. we are using sophos antivirus and all of our clients are currently XP SP3

if you want the easy way of learning the IOS, commands and things then you could always try using Packet Tracer from Cisco if you are enrolled it is a free download and the online chapters interface with it to create practical sessions

Thanks for the help. I have run several tests and it seems to have worked as the mount is disconnected and the backup did complete.

thanks for the reply I have run lsof | grep rsync and nothing is displayed however when the below is run lsof | grep /Local_Mount_Point shows the local user that mounted the drive is in the folder even when the script tells it to go back to the home directory after running rsync

I have written a short script to back up a proxy server running ubuntu 10.10 using smbfs share and rsync but when the rsync is complet it fails to unmount the directory i have also tryed forcing the umount and this also fails. umount -fv /mount_location umount: Device or resource busy [script] mount -t smbfs -o username=*,password=* //Remote_Mount /Local_Mount_Point /Local_Mount_Point/rsync (this runs the actual rsync comand as i was having errors on rsync if the mount failed and with this option it cant run if the mount fails) [rsync script] rsync -auv --exclude /remotemnt --exclude /squidcache /* /Local_Mount_Point cd /var umount -fv /Local_Mount_Point any ideas ?
