  1. Would you beleive our SLT have movede away from Profiles and back to word tempaltes for reports, they say the profiles reports are too impersonal! I said i could re-write them but they are having none of it!
  2. We use a company called Claughtons in Hull and Grimsby. We have used them for years and they have accomdated out every need. The photos here are of our library Claughton Office Equipment and Furniture (UK) - Furniture but tbh they aint the best desks. We have some news ones where everything is hidden and locked away. Before getting these we was in these 2 rooms at least 10-15 times a day plugging cables back in as they are bookable rooms and what i called "cover teacher rooms" since we got them we are very rarely in there, if we are its for helping kids/teachers etc They are quuting us for a complete IT suite in the sports hall for summer, no doubt they will get it.
  3. yup we have the same problem here, but we use netmedia for hosted email but smtp is going through our isp. it started working for a while then stopped again. The problem is AOL being to strict with who they accept email from to cut down on spam. Im just telling people who need to send to AOl to use a free web based service until this is sorted. Mike
  4. you may find that some wireless nertwork connections dont actually connect to the network until windows is loaded, i had this on a dell laptop the other day. didnt get chance to find a fix, just used a cable in the end.
  5. We used Talmos a few yeards ago, i worked for the company who created it (Chisholms/Progrid) before they became Azzurri. We found our teachers didnt like sharing their lesson plans so the server has been switched off for about 3 years, formatted it today and built a linux image server
  6. Well worth the cash, not really put it through its paces yet as my xbox is at my GF house, but the screen is huge, lots of desktop space, every connection you could ever want and coupled with a TV tuner would make a great TV for the bedroom. Just waiting for my HD downloads to finish to try the HD quality.
  7. That was my original point, maybe it didnt come across as that Neovo are a quality make and if people are looking to get that one, £100 is a bargain when they are £200 new, even the 17" ones are £145 roughly so maybe £145 is an even better deal.
  8. £425 with free delivery from ebay. Got 4yr on site warranty with dell.
  9. you are joking! I'd push for £100 or more if its the hard glass ones, Neovo are a decent make, i sold one of these last year for £100 and that was used for 6 months and no box. on another note, just taken delivery of my 24" Dell 2408WFP..... *drools*
  10. I had the same problem, this link sorted me out. Help configuring MSSQL2005 & MLH
  11. Im not a linux guru but i assume its the same as windows settings, if your websites are referenced internal (why you'd do this for external sites i dont know?) you will have to put an exception in the browser to bypass the proxy for those sites, this is under Proxy settings in IE and Network settings in Firefox.
  12. I use my personal one for Sat nav and task reminders etc. I want to use some for work the task discussed here. Will hopefully stop us forgetting things to be done.
  13. Hmmm i must have missed how to get this then. Any pointers? Sorry for the lazyness...bad morning already!
  14. Just noticed it isnt free so a demo of the PDA interface would be good to see before taking the plunge. cheers
  15. Just found MyLittleHelpdesk via another post, but the PDA demo is down so will install this tomorrow and test it out.
  16. Hi all, Im currently using oneorzero as a web based helpdesk system. Basically i wanna spend some money and i would like some wireless PDAs to access the helpdesk around the school. OneorZero will take a huge amount of modifying to get it to fit nicely on the small PDA screen. Are other schools using anything like this? Cheers Mike
  17. a nice free alternative is oneorzero Help Desk (Helpdesk) and Information Management Solutions by OneOrZero - Open Source, Free and Supported Task Management and Help Desk Software
  18. We use Talmos Classroom manager which ties in with ISA Server 2004. It works fantastic but has a few little niggles such as when restricitng to 1 particular site, if images come from another source such as images.bbc.co.uk you have to give permission to that as well. http://www.talmos.net/products-talmos-classroom-filter.htm I think they have split the application out now into Classroom manager, which handles disabling accounts/changing password etc and Classroom Filter which does the internet part. Azzurri is a good company and the Techy boys (Neil and Simon) really know their stuff.
