Thanks all, usually if I'm in a 40 I'll be in 5th all the way but If I have to slow for some reason and drop below 35 I'll drop back into 4th... or 3rd. If I do 4th I get the juddering.... it may just be that the ratios in the gearbox are low... so I need to be in 3rd to be able to get back up then change to 5th. I often skip gears to conserve fuel were appropriate. Something I've had to self learn.

Indeed, however slowing from 60, if Im coming up to a bend and slow down, ill drop into 4th or the relevant gear...then sometimes I'f I'm accelerating it will Judder. I think the air noise I'm getting is air intake when accelerating..

Yep, I'm pretty sure it's my error BUT wanted to double check first.. other cars I've driven have been fine... aslong as your rolling or upto 20 mph, 3rd / 4th should be ok to go to creep up speed at least.

Checked HT and Sparks... Im running 4 cylinders.. the car runs fine its just accelerating sometimes at low speed / revs.

Hi all, Ive noticed a problem that has seemed to crop up in the last few days.... Ive got a 1.6 Zetec SE. Sometimes changing from 2nd to 3rd, if the revs are a tad low (30 mph say).. The car judders and changing down and accelerating works then change back to 3rd which is fine. I'm a new driver so is this my error or is something wrong with the car ?, does it sometimes if i'm in a 40, and I change from 3rd to 4th and the revs are a bit low or im creeping my speed up if I'm accelerating it 'Judders' until I change down, Changing down to 3rd or 2nd is fine I can accelerate again. Sometimes slowing from 60, changing down to 4th.. if I have to accelerate again it judders slightly - changing down to third I can take off no problem. ALSO, i've noticed any rapid acceleration or revving of the engine there's a slight 'Hiss' from the engine for a second or 2 as the revs climb... is this normal for a Zetec ? Thanks in Advance.

Ive managed to pick up a set of decks. So this is the kit so far.... I'm after A second set of speakers (Tops) and A new Microphone. Oh and poles for my speakers.

I haven't got any other pics of mine, I Know what you mean you do automatically think the worse with Laptop DJ's they aren't all bad, I had to use mine the other night to play a few tracks I dont have yet on Vinyl - But I do just prefer CD... also Laptops have a tendency to crash too... have been to a few gigs where its been silent for a moment or 2 and the DJ says whoops sorry folks laptops crashed! - Bang a CD in. This scared me a bit on my last gig, my laptop really isnt great but it played what I asked it too luckily! I'll get some more pics of my kit tonight.

In certain parts there are official fan clubs, and yes its popular where I live but also all over the UK. I play mainly Proper Rock N Roll and Rockabilly... right from the 50's era... To the modern day Rockabilly stuff. I have quite a collection. Have played some pretty good gigs too.

Ive never liked the sound even with FLAC.... and high quality MP3... I dunno it just has a sound that when I hear I Know its from Laptop.... Unless you spend money and I mean thousands on really really really good quality kit, and get filtered earthed cables and stuff.... you get no were near the sound... in my opinion anyway. I havent spent that much not this time, Inherited some good kit though... Mixer is a good one.

Well I'm not into it for the money, I dont do weddings etc either... Just fun giggs. I do play a local club in town for a certain genre of music of which there is also a fanclub for. I dont do it for money... sometimes my fuel gets covered which is nice and so far I've inherited kit. But... By regulation your supposed to have insurance, Licenses, and music has to be what youve bought although it hardly ever is lol. I usually go on the back of the insurance/license of what the Venue has and it's usually sufficient although places do ask you are PAT tested. Which all my kit is. - - - Updated - - - For Laptop I've used VirtualDJ Free and BPM studio... oh and Mixx. Never used anything else.... never seen a need to.

Certainly has... Whilst I used vinyl for my last gig, I did play the odd track from Laptop... Needs must until I get a set of CD Decks. The Sounds was dreadful compared to CD & Vinyl anyway.

Cant believe I lost my MIC.... Think I left it behind... and the club doesn't have it . Never mind.

Personally I dont use or like Laptop DJ's, it does it all for you - even to searching for tracks.... My last gig I took Vinyl. I'm on the lookout for twin CD Decks. I also back bands too if they need it. Dont get me wrong when I did this the first time round I had all my Disks, cataloged on my laptop and would use my laptop for Jingles... but apart from that it was CD. Just looked on laptop for whatever track I was after and found the disk I needed shoved it in the deck and did what I needed to do. Besides which... I find a massive Sound difference especially between CD v Laptop. CD Wins everytime.

And you should be playing original bought music ... no copies. And if you have digital copies (laptop DJ) then you must be able to prove that you bought the music... although in all my years of being a DJ - I've never once been asked.

Depends on the venue, usually they are licensed which covers any acts and DJ's... although I recommend the have PLI.

Yeah good idea, to keep spares. I dont have any at present as I've just started collecting Kit again, have acquired Mixer/Amp and Speakers.... playing through my laptop at the moment. Looking for a decent set of decks though. I did a gig the other night and seem to of lost my Microphone.

I've started collecting DJ gear... Again... Have done a few gigs too looks like I'm getting back into it again. Have taken up a large space in my loft room to house the kit - PITA getting up the stairs after gigs thats for sure but never mind I don't do it for the money but for the fun of it really... Anyone else do it ?

Heres the connections on the rear of the radio I have in now... If I get a new stereo I need to connect into the plugs for this connection into what ever the stereo has on the back ?

Well Mondeos are solid, one of my favorite cars! and you got it for a good price!! I've always been a mad Mondeo fan right form the mark 1, my father in law had the mark 2 Mondeo non turbo, he had it about a year, he bought it second hand as a runabout with 235,000 on the clock. It got scrapped at 242,950. Bottom end went in the engine - it was a Duratorq 1.8. Bloody good engine considering he didnt spend a penny on it apart from the £150 he paid for it! Don't get me wrong the engine was as flat as a fart... but it kept on going and held on for dear life right until the end! The body work wasnt too bad either. Nothing that would of been serious for an MOT failure. I believe my father in law also bought the mark 2 petrol version... didnt have it long and got a motability Citroen C4.

Yeah thanks, I consider it to be low mileage too... especially for whats out there for a low price range. It was a toss up to be honest between the Focus and An Astra G (Hatchback) on sale for 695 with 6 months T&T - Y Plate 1.7 167,890 on the clock. Same price on tax and insurance but I think I Made the right choice.

Indeed, I'm glad I got the estate. I was originally after a hatchback.... but got this for the same price as a hatchback. Like I say - The car isnt in perfect condition not that that alters the running of it!! She's perfect to me anyway
