Are you deploying software through group policy, PDQ or SCCM/MECM. Universal switch finder says there is a silent switch for the .exe which is "PauseToScreenInstaller.exe" /S. Tested and it works.

Intune - assign device name to DEP devices
jslate1980 replied to Alawil's topic in How do you do....it?
Hi In Devices | iOS/iPad > iOS/iPad enrollment > Enrollment program tokens > Microsoft Endpoint Manager > Manage - Profiles Click on the profile > Select properties > there is Device name template. If you add {{SERIAL}} to the naming convention it will add the serial to the name. Jon -
Shared pc settings does break OneDrive. As it disables the use of OneDrive by default, it changes HLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive DisableFileSyncNGSC = dword:1 when it need to be 0 to work.

Domain Join problems since October 2022 update
jslate1980 replied to psydii's topic in Enterprise Software
Yes, After October patches are applied to a client, you cannot join the domain to an existing computer object if you are either not a Domain Admin or the owner of the AD object. The scenario of re-images where a service account is doing the domain join and someone used a personal account to pre-stage the AD object completely breaks. https://borncity.com/win/2022/10/12/windows-oktober-2022-patchday-fix-fr-domain-join-hardening-cve-2022-38042-verhindert-ggf-domain-join/ -

Luckily for us the windows updates for an image are not installed until after the domain join process. -
Teams assignments on an archived team site
jslate1980 replied to jslate1980's topic in Cloud Services
Update on this, the assignments should clear from the assignments tab when the team is archived. After logging a support call with Microsoft, this turned out to be a known bug with teams. They applied a patch to our Tennant. Should know by next week if it has fixed this issue.- 1 reply

Hi, I have an issue with a teacher who is still seeing assignments they created last year. But the team that is linked has been archived. Are assignments meant to disappear when the team has been archived?

We do this to add for paper costs. But as the price of paper of risen we need to revaluate this.

Paxton Net2 - Change Unlock door during; time zone
jslate1980 replied to jslate1980's topic in Enterprise Software
Thank you, didn’t know about custom days. As I have never done anything with public holidays. -
Hi, I am off next week and we have a company who are booking the site for lettings and board. Is it possible to change the unlock the door during time zone on a number of doors at a specific date using triggers and actions? Just don't want to do this remotely when I am meant to be on holiday. Usually I would just change the time zone now, but can't as we have a different group onsite now. Thanks Jon

We used to buy Xenta sets from ebuyer, but now go for the Logitech MK120 which is a bit dearer. Tbh we still get the damage but try to keep the cost down.

You could go down the co-management route, but you would need a vpn to connect to your domain to authenticate. If your requirements are just papercut and software deployment then personally I don't think I would bother. Papercut works with intune. Just use print deploy to push out printers and if you have staff with access to departments for printing you will also require the deployment of the papercut client. As for software deployment there are a couple of options. 1. Use intune to push out apps, which there are many tutorials on. 2. Look at the free repositories such as Windows package manager to deploy apps. 3. There are some thirdparty paid solutions for intune like patchmypc.

I had this issue when I applied the security baselines for windows 10. I followed this https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/Windows/en-US/c929e4e7-45f0-45bd-9693-101047acfc42/miracast-blocked-through-microsoft-security-baseline?forum=win10itprosecurity and this https://tech.nicolonsky.ch/surface-hub-miracast-connection-error/ to fix it.

Go to Azure AD admin center > security > conditional access. From there you can block ip address ranges and countries by geo-locations. Only issue is without applying 2fa, anyone can still login using a vpn to mask their ip address. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/conditional-access/overview
-
As long as you have P1 or P2 licence. You can restrict by ip range.

Everything I have read, Microsoft have dropped support. As they are pushing companies to use Azure HCI stack instead. Which is a paid monthly solution. Which can only be ran on certified hardware.
