Hi, We've been having a problem lately where a student prints but it comes out from a different printer on the other side of the school. It appears to be random, it seems to happen in any room and can print to any printer, not always the same. A reset of the profile, or even logging off and on sometimes fixes the problem but then it will happen again later on. I'm not sure whether this is a problem with users, computers or something else. Has anyone else encountered this before? Any help much appreciated, Thanks.

Hi, I've created a package for quicktime following the blueprint from RM, including the applications settings package. I've allocated this and it works apart from one room where I get the following message: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. I have tried reallocating it but this doesn't work. I cant see any differences from this room to the others so really not sure whats going on. Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks.

Yeah I've changed the mode to IDE and still get the same problem. Is there a way to make an image if it has been built by smartclient method?

Hi, We've recently purchased a classroom full of HP Compaq 6000 Pro Small Form Factor PC's and have had a bit of trouble with them. When trying to build from disk we encounter a blue screen error once the XP set up starts. I read up on this and it appeared to be the fact that xp doesnt have the sata drivers so I then downloaded these to disk so I could include them when it asks for additional drivers, but it still didnt work. In the end we decided to install xp and then to smartclient them. This works fine, however, if the machine needs rebuilding at all we have to repeat this whole process. I was wondering if there is a way to smartclient and be able to make an image of this? This way, rebuilding from an image to save time. Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes Legacy programs are enabled as well.

Yeah I tried that and it didn't work. I have managed to get it working by allowing full control for students on this folder, but once the machine is restarted these controls go back to default.

I have tried it with the writeaccess.ini and it still doesnt work. This is what I've put but I'm not sure if it is correct: [C:\Documents and Settings\All Users] Everyone=0x1F01FF

I've found out where it's trying to write to. It's c:\documents and settings\all users If I give this folder full control to student users, log off and try it with a student account it works fine. If I then restart the machine and try again, the control settings have reset themselves. Is there a way of sorting this or will I have to use the writeaccess.ini file? Thanks.

Thanks, yes that did work. Is there a way of allowing it to write to a temp location without having to remove the security setting?

Yeah I have done that as well but it still doesn't work.

Hi, I have just allocated the Lego Mindstorms software to some computers and have been having problems running it with a student logon. It works fine with an admin account but when a student uses it, it shows the following error: 'Error loading fantom.dll A dynamic link library initialization failed' I know this file is in the system32 folder and that students cant access it, but I have tried creating a path rule to allow access to the file but that doesn't work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
