Hi, In my logon script I had a line: if ismember("staff") then Run "\\PathToFile.html" which would open a webpage. This has now been changed and the webpage is a php file: if ismember("staff") then Run "\\PathToFile.php" But this no longer opens up in Internet Explorer. I'm thinking this is because it doesn't associate the php file with IE. How can I get this to open? Any help would be great, Thanks.

Change Username to match Display Name O365 Powershell
profit10 replied to profit10's topic in Cloud Services
I'm using dirsync. I have used that tool before but I need to change the username in 365, not AD. All details are correct in AD. -
Hi, I'll explain our situation and what happened first before asking what I can do. Our staff usernames had always been set as John.Smith however it was decided that this year they wanted it changed to SmithJ. This wasn't an issue and we changed them all no problem. I then synced our AD with Office 365 and all users showed up with the correct username @onmicrosoft.org which obviously needed changing. I licensed them all in powershell and then ran a script I'd used successfully before with student accounts to change the microsoft domain to our own one. This is where it gets weird and I can't understand why it happened. It changed the domain fine, however it also changed all names back to the old naming convention i.e john.smith So now all the display names show smithj but the username is [email protected] Is there a way I can easily match the username to the display name @DomAin.com? I hope this makes sense. Thanks a lot.

Hi, I thought I had finally got ADFS and single sign on set up and working with Office 365 but then tested it from outside our network and it doesn't load at all. I followed this guide: Howto - ADFS on Windows Server 2012 R2 with Office 365 | Good Workaround! I realised I didn't follow this step: Now you have published ADFS. What you now must do is to make the WAP accessible from the internet and point the federation server name in public/internet DNS to the WAP. In my case this means pointing sts.goodworkaround.com to the WAP server. I'm slightly confused as to how exactly I go about this. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi, I tried searching for these 2 problem but haven't found anything on it. I've just finished setting up ADFS to use with office 365 for single sign on however am now encountering a couple of issues. If I go to https:///adfs/ls/idpinitiatedsignon I can sign in, no problems. Once a user goes to office365.com to login, the page redirects to our organizational site and once login details are entered, it appears to accept them but then just prompts for details again and carries on in a loop. Next problem. Prior to setting this up and importing users from AD, I had created some accounts in the cloud using the same domain name for the email address. Now when I go to login with them, the page redirects to our organizational site but then gives me the error: Incorrect user ID or password. Type the correct user ID and password, and try again. Any help with this would be great. Thanks.

Office 365/Sharepoint/Teacher Dashboard Help/Advice
profit10 replied to profit10's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Thanks for your input guys. I will check that out. -
Hi Guys, I'm feeling quite overwhelmed at the moment as I've been burdened with setting up a VLE of sorts that SLT want up and running for Septemember along with everything else that needs doing this summer, but I'll try to refrain from ranting about that! Basically, SLT keep throwing around the word VLE but don't really know what it means, as in the capabilities and what it can do for the school nor can they give a straightforward answer as to exactly what it is they want. They also don't want to pay for it so that leaves it down to Moodle or from what I've read on here using 365 along with Sharepoint 2013 and teacher dashboard. What they have told me is they want a front page where students/staff can login. Once logged in the front page will have news/blog and links to a calendar, email, shared documents etc. So I'm guessing this can be done with a Sharepoint site? They also want a means for students to submit homework, teachers mark it and return to the student which I've seen can be done with Dashboard. Does this tie in with the Sharepoint site? Other than that they haven't really told me what they want but tomorrow I have a meeting to explain what can be done with 365/Sharepoint as I told them this was probably the route to take. I have minimal experience with this and have only just set up our Office365 so trying to take it all on board is quite taxing at the minute. If anyone could provide a quick write up or bullet point what can be achieved with this set up, maybe some links to examples of this being implemented or some guides on it all that would be great. I have done my own research but some guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

SIMS/Outlook freezing/not responding over Meru wireless
profit10 replied to profit10's topic in Wireless Networks
Thanks, I will give this a test. If this is the issue, What is the fix? I know you say it is related to roaming aggressiveness, but how was it resolved? -

SIMS/Outlook freezing/not responding over Meru wireless
profit10 posted a topic in Wireless Networks
Hi, We are having a problem with a few users using SIMS and Outlook when using wireless. It doesn't affect everyone, even for some users in the same room connected to the same AP. It only happens on wireless, if the problem user is wired then all is fine. A user can be connected and using SIMS/Outlook and then it will randomly freeze and display Not Responding for 30-60 seconds before returning to normal. This can happen several times a day. The wireless doesn't actually drop at the time of the freeze. I've checked the event logs at these times and there are no errors or anything that seem to be of help. All drivers are up to date. It happens with both 2.4 and 5ghz wireless cards. Any help with this would be great, Thanks. -
Windows failed to start after Windows 7 64bit image deployment.
profit10 replied to profit10's topic in O/S Deployment
I have tried putting them in the syswow64\drivers folder and no joy. I think I will have to create a new image from a VM. The machines are now getting slightly further. They get to 'setup is starting services' before restarting and going in a loop. Any ideas about this? -
Windows failed to start after Windows 7 64bit image deployment.
profit10 replied to profit10's topic in O/S Deployment
I've experienced that before, and you're correct, it won't deploy. Not sure what drivers I could be missing. I just found this on Google, about the only person I've found to have this same error after sysprepping: "For the record, the problem here was simply that my old WinPE boot wim was attached to the Win7 image. Once I'd updated to WinPE3, all was well" What does he mean by attached to the Win7 image? -
Windows failed to start after Windows 7 64bit image deployment.
profit10 replied to profit10's topic in O/S Deployment
Yeah it is 64 bit unattend. I add all my drivers to the image before capture. But Windows 7 is hardware independent, is it not? So it should at least boot up even if I were missing drivers? -
Hi, I'm having a problem with a new Windows 7 64Bit image deployment on a different hardware model to the original capture. I clean installed on one of our new machines we have, installed software, updates, added drivers etc. Sysprepped and uploaded to WDS. I've then deployed this image to all our new machines and it works perfectly. When I try it on a different model, after the first restart from installing the image it begins loading the Windows screen then gives me the following error: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. I haven't created an image for a while, or created a 64 bit one so unless I'm forgetting something from before or there are differences between 32 and 64 bit then I'm really stuck. Any help would be great. Thanks.

We are using 2013 so all files are .docx. I've had one student reporting and excel file. There doesn't appear to be any auto recovery files. We are saving to mapped drives. I've had a look and can't see anything that's blocking xml. If it is an autorecover problem, can anything be done about this? Thanks.
-
Hi, At first I thought this was just down to the students not saving properly (and it may still be) but it is happening quite often lately. Basically, a student will save a word document and the next time they open it, it will be blank. The file size will be 0kb and the last modified date will be the same as the first created. Are there any reasons why this might happen? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks Greygear. We use Impero, turns out a teacher had disabled removable media.....the same teacher who brought this problem to my attention!!

Hi, I had a search online and on edugeek for this but nothing I've found has managed to solve my problem. In one classroom, on every computer we get the following error when inserting a USB drive: Location is not available D is not accessible Access is Denied This room has the exact same policies as all other classrooms and they are all fine. It happens when logged on with an administrator. Apparently it was happening before Summer of last year when the computers were still running XP but no one has reported it until now! If anyone could help that would be great. Thanks

Classroom bookings install help.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have changed the log_threshold to 4 but I'm not seeing any log files created and there are no lines with errors/warnings. Here is my config.php: <?php if (!defined('BASEPATH')) exit('No direct script access allowed'); // Full URL to your installation $config['base_url'] = 'http://localhost/classroombookings/'; // Empty string if using .htaccess mod_rewrite #$config['index_page'] = 'index.php'; $config['index_page'] = 'index.php'; // You shouldn't need to change any of these. $config['layout'] = 'layout'; $config['language'] = 'english'; $config['uri_protocol'] = 'PATH_INFO'; $config['url_suffix'] = ''; $config['enable_query_strings'] = FALSE; $config['controller_trigger'] = 'c'; $config['function_trigger'] = 'm'; $config['time_reference'] = 'local'; $config['log_threshold'] = 4; $config['log_path'] = ''; $config['log_date_format'] = 'Y-m-d H:i:s'; $config['cache_path'] = ''; $config['encryption_key'] = ''; $config['sess_cookie_name'] = 'ci_session'; $config['sess_expiration'] = 7200; $config['sess_encrypt_cookie'] = FALSE; $config['sess_use_database'] = FALSE; $config['sess_table_name'] = ''; $config['sess_match_ip'] = TRUE; $config['sess_match_useragent'] = TRUE; $config['cookie_prefix'] = ''; $config['cookie_domain'] = ''; $config['cookie_path'] = '/'; $config['global_xss_filtering'] = TRUE; $config['enable_hooks'] = False; $config['permitted_uri_chars'] = 'a-z 0-9~%.:_-'; $config['compress_output'] = FALSE; $config['subclass_prefix'] = 'MY_'; $config['rewrite_short_tags'] = FALSE; ?> -
Hi, I'm trying to install ClassRoomBookings on a Virtual Server 2012 running IIS with the latest PHP and mySQL installed and have ran into a problem. I have followed the online documentation as is but when I goto localhost/classroombookings it doesn't work. I originally was getting a 404 error and made the change to $config['uri_protocol'] = 'PATH_INFO'; as seen in another post. I no longer get the 404 but am now getting a 500 Internal server error. If anyone can help with this that would be great, Thanks.

Hi, There is a problem with powerpoint and slideshows that it only shows a black screen rather than the correct transition. I have found a fix for this, which is to disable slideshow hardware graphics acceleration in the advanced options. This works, however it is only for that session and reverts back the next time a user logs on. Does anyone know if this can be disabled via group policy or with a registry key at all? I've had a look but can't find anything. Thanks.

Thanks but I have never used powershell before...not a clue what I would do with that. Any way to do it with a command line?
