The Prestigio Visconte 2 has been suggested as a tablet to replace the Hudls the foundation currently use (they will mainly be using Target Tracker). At the price of £149 it seems an offer too good to miss but it's pointless buying if it's rubbish which at that price I suspect it is. Has anyone got v6 the new eset av software working? I use v5 at my other school and it works great so as this is a new install I thought I would try the latest version. I've got remote administrator working and deployed the agent to a win7 test machine but push installing the endpoint fails in an error that just says failed. There's numerous help pages on the eset site but very little on error messages.

What sort of price do they sell for?

What headphones are schools using? We will be looking to buy a class set soon and would like recommendations on something that would last. We got the last set 2 years ago and as they only cost £1.60 each I think we have done pretty well but expect to be paying more this time for headphones that are comfortable to wear and last longer.

@snagrat @m25man Spot on, the cards are 2.5GHz only. When I bought the laptops I didn't know there was a difference in N networking but they are a cheapish i5 type so can't complain as it was my fault.

I thought n wifi was 5GHz? Anyway just had a look and I see there is an ipad connected on the 5GHz band so the problem must be with the laptops. Tomorrow I'll get a laptop and check the settings but I'll be surprized if there's anything to change.

I started the real time monitoring on the ZD to see how things were running and was a bit surprized that none of the clients were using the 5GHz band. On the attached screen shot the AP is an ZF7372 and the clients are 2 year old Toshiba NP300's Is there anyway to push the throughput anymore?

Thanks. This is the info Vidahost should have given me. I've found the domain transfer page and your right.. there is no .sch.uk listed but plenty of other ones I've never heard of.

I was talking to the alarm engineer about domestic installs and he uses a router (the woodwork kind) to make a grove in the floorboard, puts the cable in then tapes over the top. I know cat5 is thicker than alarm cable but worth bearing in mind.

The wheels are in motion to port the domain from Capita to Vidahost and perhaps I should have asked this question earlier but our DNS forwarders are set to 92.43.65.1 ns-cache-1.embc.uk.com 92.43.65.2 ns-cache-2.embc.uk.com which I think are Capita's servers. As we are leaving Capita what do I set the forwarders to?

Yes we are cancelling the hosting from end of March so that's not a problem and we too have found Vidahost very good and a lot cheaper. @Soulfish How do I find out who our domain registrar is?

I'm moving web hosting to Vidahost and as part of the package Vidahost also provide DNS hosting. At the moment Capita look after the DNS hosting (it's a *.sch.uk address) but it seems silly paying Capita to do it if it comes free with Vidahost and I get a control panel so I can make changes without waiting for Capita to do it. So the question is how do I make Vidahost the authoritative DNS? In the Vidahost control panel I've made A, CNAME and MX record changes just need it to become live.

@3s-gtech put me on the right track the problem was the $cookie_domain setting in configuration.php. It thought is was correct but the schools A record is still pointing at Capita so I'm accessing the new site with www..gridhosted.co.uk so the cookie domain was incorrect in that respect. You don't want to know how much time I've wasted on this :-) Thanks guys!

I'm tearing out what little hair I've got left with this one! Right got a Joomla site hosted on Capita's openhive and I'm trying to restore it on Vidahost using Akeeba . Everything restores fine till I try to logon to the backend and it will not accept my password. I've copied this Joomla site before to different subdirectories when using OH and never had a problem before so I guessing there is something different about Vidahost. Any advice please?

Any update on how well or not v6 is working? I'm still on v5 here but sooner or later I'm going to be forced to install v6

Just had an email from Tucasi saying that one of my schools that uses Schools Cash Office has stopped synchronising with it's servers and goes on to say if you have upgraded to Java 8 uninstall and replace with Java 7. As it happens I installed Java 8 last week so there lies the problem. I can see this affecting many schools.

Further to the above is it possible to disable the click event on DPCalendar so it doesn't open the event page? So what I want is to have the calendar showing upcoming events but not move to a new page when event is clicked.
