Hi, Just wondering if anyone had used Surrey based Panacea I.T. for A/V or data installs, or if anyone knows anyone who has? Had a few phone calls from them over the years and always said no but we're now looking for quotes (fancied trying someone new). Any feedback about them (good or terrible) will be muchos appreciated Cheers

I was just wondering how other people are mounting their digital signage in their school. What sort of mounts are people using, and where did they get them from? We're going for a 32" LG monitor which takes a 200 x 200 VESA mount and an Acer Revo nettop that's being put up into the false ceiling. Any advice would be mucho appreciated.

.NET. It has its ups and downs TBH. I have been tempted to scrap it and just throw a load of money at Navaho or the like; have them do it all for me. But when I think how much money the school could save (and it could look good on the old CV - a scenario where I saved the school £££s) and the lack of excitement I got from these incredibly expensive solutions I go back to Xibo. Regarding PNG backgrounds; I tried using one the other day and it worked OK. However, when I tried loading an RSS ticker over it it loaded up fine but the region area had this awful lime green background. Switched the BG back to a jpg and it was fine. Whats the python client like?

Hi, New Xibo user, and my moods are currently going from joy to frustration. Anyone have any idea why Xibo is now not showing any RSS feeds. I've completely stripped the template so it's just a background, added an RSS ticker and used the BBC's feed and nothing. Embedding a webpage and embedding a WMV video all seem to work. Feeds worked about an hour ago. Arrrrgh! UPDATE: Solved. Apparently removing the ticker region and re-adding solved the problem

Hey, Does anyone know why, when testing out new additions to your Xibo layout in the Xibo client, the changes fail to load on the first attempt? I always have to end the task then reload the Xibo client to get my latest changes. Slightly annoying. Any suggestions? Thankee

I loved this programme. The one about the Enfield poltergeist gave me nightmares for weeks.

According to the Wik: Another theory is that the incident was a hoax. The BBC reported that a former US security policeman, Kevin Conde, claimed responsibility for creating strange lights in the forest by driving around in a police vehicle whose lights he had modified.[42] [43] [44] Conde has since withdrawn the claim that he was responsible for the incident. "It is my impression that I pulled my stunt during an exercise. We would not have had an exercise during the Christmas holiday [when the UFO sightings occurred]. That is a strong indication that my stunt is not the source of this specific incident".[45] It remains possible that the coloured lights seen in the forest on the first night of the incident were due to a hoax by a perpetrator who has never come forward.

Your story reminded me of this episode of Strange But True I saw many years ago (awesome programme), about the Rendlesham Forest UFO incident. I guess living quite near Woodbridge at the time (of the programme airing, not the event itself) this freaked me out as well.

Just had the weirdest experience last night. I'm no stranger to sleep paralysis and weird dreaming, but last night I remember sitting up and seeing a black hooded figure standing at the end of my bed. Even in my sleep I remember convincing myself it was just my black hoody that I had probably hung over my clothes rail or something, but looking at it this morning I could see nothing that would resemble a black hooded demon. Just wondered if anyone else had any similar experiences during sleep paralysis. Something else that popped into my head shortly afterwards was this classic track: (sorry I did try to embed the video but the evil Sony wouldn't let me)

I've just downloaded and installed Xibo on my PC at work. I've set up a layout and now I want to preview the thing. How do I preview what it will look like on a screen on my screen? I'm so confused Thanks peeps

Sorry, I hope I haven't offended you. Thanks for the reassurance.

Hello Hello, I want to do a course in May that's based in Hackney (non-work course; just for personal enrichment). I'm kinda nervous though because it's an evening course and I don't want to get stabbed up getting the train home. Is Hackney really that bad or am I just pedalling an age-old stereotype?

At the moment I'm integrating our school buy.at shop into Joomla through a flash shop built by me (I've just made a pretty link directory basically). The pain with that is it's a nusaince to update with new affiliates, and I'm really looking for some sort of component which allows me to post up links easily and quickly without having to edit a damn .fla file. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've had a look at the directory listing areas of extensions.joomla.org but most of them aren't what I'm looking for. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Can anyone recommend any places to buy screens (with the correct warranties etc)? Cheers

Go to cyanogenmod.com, click downloads>your phone model and there should be a seperate download for Google Apps. Cyanogen mod have to leave it out of the main install for copyright reasons I belive. Then just install it in recovery mode. If all else fails it may be worth wiping, clearing cache data etc and re-installing. I take it you've installed a stable version of CM? -

Yeah I noticed that. I'm on RC7 at the moment, and all posts seem to say Gingerbread for the Nexus is coming 'soon', but they don't give a date. -

What's more, I don't know if anyones awaere of this but if your phone has a Voice Dialer, you can speak to word PROXY into it and it brings up hidden proxy settings. So technically Oxygen does have a proxy option. It may take a while though; I was sounding every vowel and consonant with more care than the Queen herself and it was still coming up with ridiculous suggestions. -

I want to install this but it seems really complicated. It says you need to partition your drive and set up swap drives or something I know there is an option in ROMManager to partition your SD card but i'm still a bit unsure. On Oxygen still. Tried Pinky and Frost (both sense ROMS) last night but I missed Oxygen's cleanness and speed. -

Pray tell. I have managed to successfully get on the network using a third-party app called ASProxy so I don't think they're trying to stop me. Have you seen issue 1273 under Android bug reports? -

What phone do you have? -

True; but there's three of us in our office and we all have different OS'. They know Android kicks both of their phones to the dust, but the only achilles heel my Android has (which they always use) is the fact that I can't connect to the school wifi and their phones can.
