[android] Stolen Phone - What to do?
mac_shinobi replied to RabbieBurns's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Call the network provider to lock / block the handset , if you have any insurance on the handset from your bank or that you setup before using the handset then claim on the insurance Report to the police so you get a crime reference number which you may need to claim on the insurance etc etc -
Where and how are you trying to install .NET Framework 4 ? ie under standard AD user account, logged on as domain admin / local admin etc ? When attempting to install an application I generally have to goto the properties of the file and ensure under compatibility tab it is set to run as administrator under all users --> ensure I am logged on with domain admin account and also hold down shift and right click the setup file --> run as administrator then the setup appears to install correctly Does that help at all Also are you using the msi installer for .NET Framework 4 and pushing out via GPO / GPP to install on a number of machines or just the one machine where it is corrupted and not working etc ? Are you attempting to run a repair install on it or have you removed all the .NET Framework and then re installed freshly ? - - - Updated - - - ^^^^ Exactly that - worded better than myself lol

@SYNACK - Can you help or suggest any ISP's ?

Adobe Flash in ActiveX and plugin do not play
mac_shinobi replied to abimho's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Assuming this is for one PC versus a computer suite or more than one PC Using both programs and features ( add / remove programs ) as well as the flash un-installer ( Uninstall Flash Player | Windows ) to remove Flash from your system completely Once removed you can either restart windows and then re install flash or just re install flash I normally go to the flash downloads page and click the link for Other Browsers and then download the setup file and run the setup file as administrator ( shift and right click the setup file and select Run As Administrator ) Obviously selecting the correct OS and from the 2nd drop down select the option for Other Browsers ( you could possibly try and download and install both ) Click download now button and save that some where that you can find easily --> As stated above run as administrator If this is for more than one PC ie on a network then you may need to download the Flash Player for Network Administrators which I believe there is a link to this on the initial page -
no problem - which is why I asked if you are able to / allowed to etc
-
@Millgate - can you do me a favour and use this button I can get some extra entries and get a chocolate pizza for once ? Thanks

Just wondering if you are allowed to or able to attach a wps file or all the wps files - may be able to do something with them Failing that wondering if something like IrfanView will allow you to open said document up ? If you can get another app to open the wps files then you could use a PDF Writer such as cute pdf / pdf creator or similar to convert and save the docs in a pdf format possibly ?
-
^^^^^ exactly this
-
Thanks to @Arthur for correcting me !
-
That reminds me - what about installing Open Office and trying to use open office to recover the docs ? Photo Rec step by step from the CG Security site : http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec_Step_By_Step Not sure how much use this is but found it via google search : http://www.techradar.com/news/software/applications/9-ways-to-recover-a-corrupt-microsoft-office-file-712429
-
I keep calling it test disk but yes photo rec as cg security make them both. I should start calling the relevant products by there correct names, my bad !! Sorry !!
-
What about renaming / changing to a zip or 7z to see whats contained within those files ?
-
Change file ext to docx or change to htm or html and see if that shows any of the data ?
-
Test Disk by cg security ? Curious if you goto the properties of the c drive and goto previous versions and look through the different previous versions locations ( more specifically the auto save locations for word documents ) Are those documents there Long shot but does the memory stick have previous versions tab on the properties of said mem stick
