We have 34 switches probably half and half 24/48 port models, currently in around 20 cabinets. A quick google shows a 25 switch limit in Instanton per site, but up to 150 sites. mmm maybe this isn't the right solution....

a cloud license is £110 for 5 years. do you just manage each switch (or stack) via its IP and web GUI?

Hello, looking to move from Netgear to Aruba switches and kinda narrowed the Edge model options down to either the 2930F (managed in Aruba Central) or 1930 (managed in Aruba Always On) the 1930 unfortunately doesn't support stacking but otherwise looks fine for what we need, and is 1/3 the price....has anyone got any good things or terrible things to say about the Aruba 1930 and the 'Instant On' management portal? Hello I want to put the Papercut mobility print client into my off domain laptop MDT Task Sequence, but there is no silent/command line install option. during install the client asks for printer name, username and password so something like this would be good: pc-mobility-print-printer-setup.exe /quiet /printername /username /password Any ideas? We have some MDT image failures and the fix is always to use diskpart (even though I am formatting disks in the task sequences) I have tried putting a diskpart the command in the Pre Install bit of Task Sequence command line: diskpart.exe /s clean_disk.txt clean_disk.txt contains: select disk 0 clean exit It runs through, cleaning the disk with no errors but near the end of imaging it creates driver errors and stops with 'unable to find definition file BDD_Welcome'. Removing my new diskpart command line fixes the issues. Where should I put my diskpart command? Thanks

I install Adobe cc in a package created on the Adobe portal of nearly all apps via PS startup script. It usually reboots and only Adobe acrobat and CCloud is installed. All other Apps are missing. The Adobe install log just ends, no errror. The only thing I can see around that time stamp is Sophos event but it looks just informational. what we are (were) hoping is that Central gave us an overview of the switches, a quick way to manage them without browsing to individual IP's and a way to bulk admin them e.g. Add a VLAN to all at once. I dont know about the bulk VLAN admin bit but it does give an overview. There also seems to be a push to use templates if using Central but for 10 switches initially (only 30 max) it seems overkill. Hello, I have a trial Aruba 2930F switch, I will probably do most admin through GUI but command line is necessary. I'm in the Aruba Central interface, select the switch and Actions/Console (also tried Putty) but stuck where to start, every command returns 'Invalid input'. e.g. something simple like setting the switch name: Trial-Aruba-2930F-24G-PoEP-4SFPP# config Trial-Aruba-2930F-24G-PoEP-4SFPP(config)# hostname Test-Switch Invalid input: hostname am I in the wrong place for CLI? This is OK now. The issue FYI was the PCIe riser has very specific slots that are live if only 1 processor is used on the server board. I needed to read the manual more carefully.

Hi, I have a 5 year old Intel S2600 server running Windows 2012r2 (required to be on this OS). I am trying to install a 10G Intel X520 SFP network card. The server has a 3 port PCIe riser, which I know works as it has RAID card in it. I have tried plugging the SFP NIC card into both ports on the riser and tried 2 different cards of the same model, but it simply does not pick up the card in Windows. The BIOS 'PCI config' for the port that the card is plugged into is set as 'Gen3'. I have tried setting this to Gen2 (it's a Gen2 card) but still not detected in BIOS or Windows. Any ideas? Thanks

Hello, there is a lot of questions over Teams chat. From what I've found the policies 'disable chat' prevent chat in the channel. You can not prevent chat in a meeting. But just the last weeks a few staff have complained about their classes having the mute message below in the meeting chat. 'You've been muted so you can't start a conversation' The meeting is set to 'Anyone can post message' although even if set to 'Owner only' this doesn't seem to make any difference.. Any ideas why students (sometimes) get this message?

Am I right thinking the Ubiquiti switches don't support stacking? do you link them in the same cabinet with a LAG and cat6? Thanks

We have a layer 3, Netgear switch environment (24/48 ports, PoE, stacking etc). We are looking at possibly moving away from Netgear for subsequent switch purchases, definitely having some kind of cloud management. Netgear do 'Insight Pro' which is their cloud solution, which on paper looks OK...then there's Ubquiti which has mixed reviews. Everything looks good...and bad, everything has bad and good reviews, bit of a minefield. In the medium term we will have to have a mix of new and old hardware. Can anyone recommend a solution they've had a good or bad experience with, and a supplier who can give independent and honest options and prices. Thanks

Hello, for ages now we have been having issues with photos (sometimes) not opening. After a Sophos upgrade it apparently now detects windows firewall events, and there is indeed an event logged: "Application microsoft.photos was blocked by an endpoint firewall" but we don't use Sophos Firewall and the Windows firewall on the client is turned off... How is that possible?

Following on from my settings Q.. Can anyone say what their Real Time scanning settings are for servers and workstations? Do you have just Local only enabled for both? I def. don't want to be scanning things twice. Historically we have disabled Real-time scanning on our servers, but maybe that's not recommended. Thanks
