Hello, Where will you use these cards to authenticate? If you wish to authenticate at a MFD and were looking at papercut then you need to look at papercut MF. If you are UK based then google for a local MF dealer such as: Papercut NG and Paperut MF Print and Copy Control from Portrayal Ltd PaperCut MF PaperCut MF Select Technology – Custom MFD Solutions – Call us on (0) 1256 246970 etc. From my understanding the type of cards you have will limit to what type of system you can have but. papercut does everything you have said above, but automatic printer redirection is not that easy due to different drivers etc have a read of this PaperCut KB | Does PaperCut support printer redirection based on rules? or look at "find me/follow me" printing. I have used papercut before (at home in a test setup and at a local lawyers office) got to say it is pretty good. But as always evaluate pcounter and equitrac but i expect you will find papercut easist to use and probably the cheapest options as well. i suggest you google papercut mf and give some of the companies a call.

Ricoh make a silly amount of money each year, and not all of that comes from SLR's and blank DVD's They make a lot of very nice machines, support them well (such as Tessa) and allow a lot of 3rd party companies to work with them.

Tricky one this, a lot of people favour certain makes/models and I am no different. You should consider where you will be in a few years time to see if leasing it makes it worth while. Also if you plan to change how you charge for prints or copies in the future you will want a machine that can work with the various solutions available. In light of this i would suggest looking at: Ricoh or Sharp machines - they also seem very keen to promote the embedded environments they offer so you can tell they are planning for the future. Hi, uniflow is a good system but you are tired to canon copiers, nothing wrong with that as they make some great machines but perhaps worth planning for the future and go for something "vendor neutral" as they call it. Someone at a copier dealership selling uniflow once told me it could not talk to AD, i am not sure if this is still the case. The only other bit of info was it cost a lot of money but once again that was a while ago so perhaps its pricing has changed. You also mention papercut, that is a very good product, i use the freebie version at a few sites and even at home. they have a dedicated copier version now called "MF" that maybe worth a look, available from various uk dealers just google papercut mf uk pcounter has moved on a bit the last few years i must try it out again but anyone wanting me to sign up to get a trial needs to look at them selves. *first post down..not sure why it took me years to register...*
