Whatever you are booting to does not have the mass storage driver that Vmware is using. What are you using to capture this image?

I am using MDT and WDS at the moment. I will be adding SCCM into the mix at some point.

This can be an annoyance sometime. I use a bulk renaming tool with a few regular expressions to sort this. Typical situation is it outputs everything with the teachers initials first and I want them to be grouped in subjects, so I get the subject name to the front and the initials to the end.

I have a macro that merges all the files into one document and I then print it from there. I do it this way for mass editing and checking. I have another one that inserts a page between them all as well (usually a key to grades etc). If you are interested I will post it up. I am sure there is an older version on here already as well.

I will also recommend the Haynes manuals and more specifically the red ones called techbooks. They cover an area each in great detail such as basics, electrical and maintenance.

I did some night school courses which helped a lot with confidence to tackle some problems, as I already had an idea of what to do from reading some books etc. I have a collection of you tube vids as well which I will look up later for you. I am currently browsing via my phone so it's really slow. No dam BB on my phone line for some reason!

Well if you can't get out of the way of a big truck you should't be on 2 wheels! The only time that you should get caught out is that rare freak gust of wind.

Get something with 2 wheels then you wont have any trouble overtaking anything with 4+ wheels. 0-60 in 3 seconds rocks

I did get it working with the lookup but it is good to know about the rounding down as this will simplify things a little when applicable.

How could I do some kind off lookup table in AM? I have some grade boundaries I want to convert to something else. Each step of the grades could be up to 5 points difference eg 80-85 = A 75-79 = B. I thought I could use a grade set and use the points value in some kind of formula to convert it back to a grade in another grade set (No idea if that would work), but I wondered if there was a more straight forward way than this?

That is what I was getting at. You should never point your clients at a DNS source that is not doing the resolving for your AD domain. The last thing you want is your clients trying to query your ISPs DNS or similar for the SRV record for the services you are requesting such as a DC etc. You should have these kind of server as forwarders for your AD DNS servers. Imagine how much time they are wasting doing this during peak logon times.

If I read this right you are assigning a non ad DNS server as your secondary DNS server?

I think it is 2 a year. You have to do some extra registering to claim them I believe. ZeroHour had to do this not so long ago so he would be able to advise you on this.

You need to monitor the performance of your server during these peak times. Use task manager as a basic guide or use some performance counters. 512 meg does not seem much. I am assuming server 2003? How many clients?

In my experience when this sort of thing happens it is a performance issue. It just isn't able to map the drive and the time with everyone logging on. Our old file server was like that and when we upgraded the problem disappeared. Where exactly are you storing the batch file?
