  1. Hi Steve, believe the issue could be related to the WebClient service on your machine. Most likely set to Manual. We will mail you through a few things to try on a test machine to see if this works. thanks LP+ Support
  2. Hi Steve Im sorry to hear that you feel we are not concerned about your issues on CC4, but can assure you that is definitely not the case. Im aware you have already spoken to our support desk and we have already asked you to perform some troubleshooting, and hope you appreciate that we do not have access to your school's CC4 network for us to give you any definitive answers. As requested please can you request from RM to check the internal group policy setup for IE and provide LP+ with the results, also please contact the Support Desk again and request to speak to the Support Manager who can assist further. thank you LP+ Support
  3. Hi 194gb for a content database is really large. Large content databases can be cause of performance issues and also cause issues when upgrading to SPS 2010 It would be advisable to split the content database if you have a number of site collections. could you please advise on your hardware setup and specs. Some suggestions to help: - run performance counters that come with Windows Server to ensure its not a hardware issue i.e CPU utilisation / available memory / disk IO / NIC IO- do you use my sites at the moment it would be worth seperating these - seperate my sites web application and content databases. this article should help The SharePoint Bandit: Moving My Sites to a separate content database and web application - if you have a number of site collections move them to another content database. a good reference for this is: Move site collections to a new database (split a content database) (Windows SharePoint Services 3.0) As alex has pointed out for best practices the databases should not be more then 50gb. hope this helps San Mehta LP+ Support
  4. hi shrink the log files for associated with that database make sure you do a backup from SQL server though before you carry out the shrink operation also worth checking the recycle bin settings on sharepoint central admin and ensuring that it is set to periodically clear it Configure Recycle Bin settings (SharePoint Foundation 2010) hope this helps San Mehta LP+ Support
  5. hi i would advise you to try the following: - if you are using internet explorer trying adding the site you are having an issue with to the trusted zone - try using another browser i.e safari or firefox if the site supports it to see if you have the same issue - to eliminate if its a firewall/proxy issue i would recommend you test this from a PC that is not behind a firewall i.e at home using home broaband or on your laptop using a 3g dongle if you have one. hope this helps sandip mehta LP+ Limited
  6. Hi Kim Our response was not meant to imply that any individual or yourself had lied. The intention was to assure our clients that the domain had not expired and allay any fears the information would have cause to our existing clients. The screenshots we have taken are from whois.net directly and at the time of the s/s we had not managed to update/transfer the domain yet. The network solutions site had even more out of dated information and therefore from which you had obtained your information. The infromation that should show after we transfered and repaid for the domainis in the attached screenshots. However I would like to apologise that our repsonse caused offence specailly to someone like you who has previously been a very supportive and fantastic LP+ customer. We also understand that the response you had provided was meant to help the users of this forum and also to support us in resolving the issue. Regards Sandip Mehta LP+ Limited

  8. hi On the contrary to what has been stated on this page about the domain name being expired we can assure you that this is not the reason for LPPLUS being down (please see attached screenshot which shows expiry is in Nov 2011 ) We are currently experiencing issues due a dispute with our domain registrars and their contracted online payment authority. We are in the processes of resolving this and hope to have the service back up and running as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. Sandip Mehta LP+ Limited

  14. hi i dont know if i have understood your requirement fully but you can use a Content editor web part combined with audience targeting. - create a security group on the AD and add the users for which you dont want to display the launch bar - create the audiences in your SSP and add the security group created above in this audience for whom you dont want the launch bar to be displayed - compile the audience - on the page you want to hide the quick launch bar add the Content Editior Web part - open it in source editor - add the below code .ms-quicklaunch { display:none; } .ms-navframe { display: none; } - once this has been added go to advance settings of the web part and set the audience targetting. Add the group you created and complied above. hope this helps San LP+ Limited
  15. Hi It's the same as 2007, you give the new heading a name and leave the URL blank, this will create a new heading on the quick launch without a link. regards San LP+ Limited
