  1. Performed and upgrade from 8.1.3 to 8.2 today on a 16GB Air, with only 1.3GB of available storage space. After downloading and installing the update, 1GB remained. I suppose it will depend on the current version of iOS your device is running.
  2. For cable management with this breed of Mini computers I've been looking at these: Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One 23 They are only £160 ex VAT from our suppliers and can be used with the full range of Tiny PCs from Lenovo. This video shows off its best features.
  3. I'm sure on the last Webinar i attended they stated the costs would be covered by the annual Broadband and Online Services bundle. I've been using it since November, with no additional charges to the schools.
  4. PM'd you
  5. Only the Auto Adjust button on the monitor is the only one functioning, cant get the Menu or even the Power buttons to work :-/ It still works fine when it has a signal, but as it wont turn off without unplugging it the colour sequence continues to cycle.
  6. I've got this exact issue on a HA195. Do you think it was a key press on the monitor or a menu setting that was altered to fix it in the end?
  7. Update: After chasing the issue again, BT Lancashire have changed the schools public IP address and apps have installed straight away. They say this is an iOS 8 issue, im not sure, but im happy its working now.
  8. Hi Joanne...is it still working? Using iOS 8.1, I'm also having intermittent app installations via a BT Lancashire internet connection. Logged and chased a call twice now, hoping they will respond to me sometime this year!! Whitelisted all of this in a URL Pattern, still no joy: gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com deimos3.apple.com phobos.apple.com itunes.apple.com ax.itunes.apple.com albert.apple.com gs.apple.com
  9. I've been using Lightspeed Mobile Manager since last Thursday on the BT Lancashire Services/CLEO network. It was due out in May and I had to e-mail the Project Manager a few times to request early access to the admin console. I was sent login details and some documentation, I think they just need to train helpdesk staff before they can launch it to all schools. Its worked really well and Lightspeed's community site is very comprehensive, with little tests and labs as you go. Currently schools cannot access the SMB share on their Lightspeed Rocket tier, which would allow us to upload user and group CSV files automatically generating multiple accounts each night into Mobile Manager. This would be useful for cart deployments of iPads as Mobile Manager requires user accounts linked to devices to deploy apps via Managed Distribution. Hopefully, we will be given this access at some point, or when MBC is introduced ,access to Lightspeed's Clever to allow sync via SIS - in the interim I will have to create manual mobile manager accounts and link them to the devices.
  10. I've got exactly the same issue having installed Flowol 4 this afternoon. Not resolved it yet. I can only view the C:\ drive when trying to Save or Open a Flowchart. Did Keep IT Easy come back to you with a solution?
  11. BTLSL have now published documentation and the User Agents for download on the Schools Portal I followed the guide today to configure AD integration at one of the sites i support. I've deployed the user agents, via GPO, to as many clients as i could, but was unable to access each and everyone, to ensure it was installed. Therefore i have left the Required Authentication method to Never, to allow access without an Authentication popup on the workstations which haven't had the agent installed yet. BTLSL have recommended changing the Authentication method to Require Authentication : Only when their identity is unknown . However, I'm going to need to add Exceptions for the standalone computers in our Nursery and our Photocopiers to connect online without authenticating - a job for next time. Arcath - Is the Require Authentication something you plan on changing?
  12. Hi All, We've recently upgraded to Office 2013 Professional Plus from Office 2010. Our Workstations are Windows 7 x64 SP1 and this issue is happening on freshly built machines and established installs. When a limited user creates a new presentation, launches Slide Show, right clicks and tries to access the "Pointer Options" to annotate the slide with a pen or highlighter, they receive the following error and no annotations: "We're sorry something went wrong that might make PowerPoint unstable. Please save your presentations and restart PowerPoint" This error doesn't appear as an Admin, so its probably a permissions issue . It also happens on opened presentations. Any pointers as to how to resolve the issue? Cheers
  13. This tablet interests me. Few questions: How much storage space do you have after removing the bloatware? Can you disable the cameras in the BIOS? Did you get a stand case with it? What do you intend to do with it? Personal use, Staff use, 1-2-1 deployment for pupils or just trialing tablet offerings?
  14. I believe the form at the bottom of this page is what you need.
  15. Just bought some of these as they had XP Drivers available on the Lenovo Support site: Lenovo E530s (3259-MKG) - Available Here
  16. Can multiple parties edit the same calendar this way? Have you tried this yourself?
  17. For two workstations? Its a bit overkill isn't it?
  18. Morning All, One of my Primary Heads wishes to share and update a calendar with her Bursar. The school has an admin XP peer-to-peer network, consisting of a "server" (used by the bursar) and one workstation (used by the head) They have been using Office 2010 since May this year and the Bursar has created and populated a school calendar for this academic year. We've shared this calendar on Office.com, as they do not have an Exchange server, but it has its limitations (the head can only view the calendar, not update it and its limited to 90 days in the future) Our LEA can provide calendar sharing via their hosted Exchange 2007 OWA, however there is nowhere I can see to import an existing calendar, not to mention the cut down experience OWA gives. Are there alternative working solutions to Exchange, which would allow two users to update one Outlook calendar?
  19. I'm about to setup 16 Laptops in the same manner. Did you have to change the key after Ghosting?
  20. Sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm having this issue on local installs. Spoke to TTS and they suggested installing Microsoft Office to rectify the issue. I've installed Office 2010 32-Bit Pro Plus, without entering a key and this has resolved the error!! TTS couldn't tell me which individual component of Office fixes the issue, so ive had to install the entire suite on machines that just need Office 2010 Starter on them. Talk about using a sledghammer to crack a walnut! Does anyone have a simpler/neater solution?
  21. Ahhh...that is a bit of a problem. Cloud backup solution then?
  22. Data Security: If i use the Lexar Backup software it automatically encrypts the drives with 128-bit AES encryption. Physical Security: Its much smaller than a standard pen drive, as can be seen below, even looks like a bluetooth dongle, so it would be hard to yank out. If it was stolen i'd be using the encryption to protect the data.
  23. Has anyone used these?: Lexar 32GB Echo ZX Backup Drive £21.99 - Free Delivery They look like a good solution for the Teachers who forget to regularly backup their laptop data (aka all teachers! ) and as they are so small they just stay connected in the USB port all the time. I'd be interested to know people's thoughts on them or other solutions you are using to back up teachers laptops, which are mainly used for planning/reference/iplayer/browsing/facebook at home?
  24. Thanks for your reply. Its not working on 2 different workstations that i was able to test it on, one established XP desktop and one newly configured XP laptop, there are 40+ more machines in school so i'd assume its the same with this profile on them. I deleted the local cached profile, still the same. I'll take a look at the GPO settings, some were established before i started supporting at this site.
  25. I'm having an issue opening Photostory 3 on some XP workstations when using an account with a mandatory profile. Photostory works fine for domain admin and a non-mandatory profile account, but i get the following error when trying to launch it from the Start Menu: "Files required to run Photo Story are missing or corrupted. Please reinstall" I've tried re-creating the local profile - no joy. Edited the mandatory profile as per the Edugeek Wiki instructions, loading Photstory successfully with the MPM account then saving the profiles ammending the NTUSER.man appropriately - no joy. Reinstalled it - still no joy! Any ideas?
