Locale is set to en-GB.UTF-8 Also tried US just in case but made no difference. It's just bugging me that I can see characters in showconsolefont that don't display in Vim. It's not a big deal, they're characters I'm unlikely to ever need, it was more a learning opportunity but I think I've hit a dead end. Will use X workaround and stop fussing for now, thanks for your help

Adding to @zag and @webman's comments, it's also a very good idea to have some form of user auth if you're going to allow edits to the DB. POST data is somewhat hidden from the standard user, but anyone who wanted to cause you havoc could very easily edit the request headers to your delete.php page to remove whatever they liked. At least if they had to login first, you'd add an extra level of security!

Lots of UTF-8 characters are simply missing, even though they should theoretically be available (they're visible in the preview produced by 'showconsolefont') For that reason, I suspect the problem lies with Vim and/or Tmux - probably not correctly reading the mapping. May just have to use the X workaround - it's not that my laptop doesn't have the resources, I just wanted to try to get this working out of interest really.

You have an extra quote in this line (you only need one after the PHP echo. Also, you need a question mark following the page name - this acts as a separator so that the server can distinguish the page request (delete.php) from the query string (id=xx) (for future reference, to pass multiple parameters you separate them with an ampersand [&]): id;?>[b]"[/b] onclick="javascript: return confirm('Are you SURE you wish to do this?');">Delete ; ?> However, your PHP is not populating the page with the id - could you share the code for view.php? Obviously, remove any login details! (though it looks like you've already put them in a separate file, which is good!)

I've got a setup I'm pretty happy with on my laptop now for when I need to use Linux for something (it's based on Arch) I've not bothered with X because the things I use Linux for don't require it. However, one problem I'm having is that I've been unable to find a console font or config that will enable full UTF-8 support. Does anybody know how to go about this? I've already got my locale settings to the UTF-8 variant, I've manually enabled UTF-8 in both Vim and Tmux but this has made no difference. A workaround is to boot a terminal emulator in X full screen, at which point UTF-8 works fine, but I'd rather do it without X if possible.

Hi all, I've not been making much use of my trusty dSLR of late, so have decided to sell it to fund something a bit smaller. I'm selling: - Canon 40D body - Canon EOS 50mm f1.8 lens - Canon EOS-D 17-85mm Lens - for spares, not working. Online research leads me to believe it's a common problem and that replacing a ribbon cable will fix it, but I just don't have the inclination to try it myself now. - 4 CF Cards ranging in size from 2GB to 8GB - Small shoulder bag (main zip is fine, one of the two side zips is broken unfortunately) - Variety of screw on filters and a glass filter holder (plus graduated ND) This is from memory, will have a proper check when I get home and amend as necessary, will comment below if I make amendments so as to make it clear. All in all, would like £280 for the lot, but I'm open to offers. Collection is preferable due to weight, I can post it but it's not going to be cheap. Willing to travel to Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall to meet any none drivers who can't get to my house.

I wrote a tool some time back to help with the SIMS side of this. Basically, you set up a CSV file for each centre, the name of which should be the centre number. Inside each CSV is a list of all the exam numbers (i.e. candiadates) linked to that centre. You then produce your entry files as usual in SIMS, and feed the resulting file in to my tool which splits it for you ready to upload. Exam File Split - Geek Josh It's been a long time since I used it, but as far as I'm aware there haven't been any changes to the file format so it should be fine. I would of course recommend testing it before using it 'for real' though!

Very few people actually have any idea what the BBC do (and the BBC really should make this clearer IMO). It's not just a case of paying to watch BBC channels (though of course that's a big part of it), they also develop many of the technologies that the entire broadcasting (TV and radio) field relies on, then they share those technologies for free. For instance, they played a major part in developing the On Demand services that all major channels now provide; do you think they'd all be free if the BBC hadn't set the precedent? There are many other technologies that they have developed and are actively developing; I was recently shown a portable broadcasting kit they were working on in Birmingham that would allow any reporter/DJ to set up a radio station with kit you could fit in a decent sized hard case for instance; and this all gets passed out to the industry to help everyone improve their services. If the license fee were scrapped, as is looking like a very real possibility under the current government; you can bet your bottom dollar a lot of currently free services will either become subscription based or have ads every 10 minutes like they do in the USA. OK so for the time being, you can record programs and skip the ads, but I don't think it's a far stretch to say eventually all our TV services will be web based, and then you're stuck watching them; ever tried watching anything on ITV's on demand service?

Yeah I have done, the molerats are just insanely strong! If the breakout is in a manned room, there's no problem, but if it starts in an empty room and spreads they somehow seem much stronger. I just had an instance about half an hour ago where there were 6 people in a room, 3 of which had rifles, one a laser rifle and the other two 10mm pistols, all with full health, and 4 of them were killed before the molerats were finished off

I've now had 3 instances where a molerat outbreak has wiped out around a dozen dwellers! They're worse than the Deathclaws bizarrely - they tend to move to the next room before they've managed to kill anybody!

Just wanted to share this one not because it's a particularly great photo, but because I'm really impressed with the camera on my new phone - the Honor 6+ This is SOOC, a little soft but not too bad and the DoF effect given by the dual lens is really impressive. It actually goes one further and lets you refocus the image after the fact as well as adjusting aperture. Not going to replace my dSLR any time soon but great to have a decent camera in my pocket at all times now

I had 2 men, 2 women in a room earlier trying to get a few more dwellers. One guy went off in to a room with one of the girls, came back out and moments later went back in with the other girl - I took pity on the 'spare' guy and sat him in the bar to drown his sorrows (and in a fateful twist boost his charisma, which should help him 'breed' in future!) Bonus awkwardness: the 'studded' guy and two women work in the same lab together. Better than the soaps!

Been playing for a couple of days and it is quite fun, but I hate that you have to manually collect resources which means constantly checking back in; unless of course you buy a Mr. Handy! Would much rather they just charged for the game than add in-game purchases for what is practically essential if you don't want to have to check back every 10 minutes.

Why bother installing Windows 7 updates if you're going to upgrade to 10?

Quite right, I did sign up. Unfortunately, my actual degree got in the way of me completing it! I was going to sign up for the next run, but have been without proper internet for a month now (bloody BT!) so haven't. Hopefully they'll run it again, it was a really interesting course and although I'd already tinkered with most of the electronics covered in the course, the bits I did gave me a much better understanding of the components rather than me just using them parrot fashion as I had been doing up until that point. Highly recommend edX, the courses I've seen have been excellent quality, and they're mostly free!

I'm planning on doing the same thing, have an old 19" laptop monitor I was planning on inlaying on a coffee table with a sheet of tough perspex over the top, then adding a couple of sunk USB ports to the table edge to plug pads in - in my head, dead simple, but my DIY skills are somewhat lacking it must be said!
