Wow I'm pleased to say that for the first time since I've been at this school and used PCE it's now working how it's supposed to with the new update. No IE or other programs crashing, websites block properly... It's a good feeling

Recently we have had a growing amount of students and teachers coming to us complaining of having corrupt Office files that we have been unable to recover. We have tried running some recovery software but this didn't work and some of the memory sticks were a state so we just put it down to that... but could it be something wrong with the settings of our systems? How often do you guys get people with these problems? It just doesn't seem normal!

I found out that when Windows 7 creates a new profile for a user it overwrites the desktop.ini file with the following: [.ShellClassInfo] LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21770 IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-112 IconFile=%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll IconIndex=-235 So it has taken out all the previous details about the owner so that is why it changes. It happens when the students log on to a windows 7 machine. If you delete the desktop.ini file from within the folder it will restore their original names but if they log in again on a windows 7 machine they change back. We have yet to find a proper fix for this. You may also find students cannot access their files through "My Documents" and instead have to go through My Computer to get to their share

"Move" is Sonys answer to a Wii-style control system but it seems to be more perfected and accurate.

It looks uncomfortable to hold if it is. Nintendo are streaming their press conference later tonight so hopefully we will find out. Kinect doesn't sound like it's fairing well against the Move from what I've been reading
