    As a test you could try and make a test user that only has the the printer GPO and see if that works, if so it could be a setting in another GPO causing the trouble.

    Is the server they are connected to are they in the list as normal or do they say offline or error? from a computer that has failed to link to the printers can you ping them? Are the printers on a different VLan from the computers? sorry if this is no help.

    The users having the problem are they different types or the same e.g are they all students or mixed between staff and students? If it is the former it could be GPO inheritance causing the problem.

    We use these http://www.bitfenix.com/global/en/products/accessories/s2/ Keeps the wires neat and secured the to computers but needs a pad lock. Stop the student moving the mice and keyboards around, still get the odd bit of vandalism but nothing like before.

    That could work, if it search is only looking at the cached e-mail it would not see new ones that had yet to be cached. Does the user have webmail? if so do they have the same issuse there?

    Yes to a point, where I work it is unblocked at lunch before school and after school but in lessons it's blocked via impero to all KS3 and KS4 students unless a request is made from a teacher to unblock it. Sixth form can uses it as well as all staff.
