  2. Are the mac users logging on to the network or just connecting for certain services. One possible way (although I have never tried this and is just a thought) If they are not logging on to the network, remove the everyone group from the security permissions on the printer and replace with authenticated users. Anyone who logs on to the network get authenticated and should be allowed to print etc. Mac users who are just connecting and not logging on are not authenticated and should not be allowed to print. Should work but like I said I have never tried it. Hope that makes sense........
  3. I'm having a little play with hyper-v R2. Installed ok and I have enabled remote management from the the configure remote management option. I'm am using a Win7 Ultimate laptop with Hyper-V management tools install and when I try and connect to the server I am getting RPC service is unavailable on the server. I'm hot, not had my morning coffee yet and having searched the net all I can find are references to Vista tools dating back to 2008 Anyone able to point me in the right direction. Thanks
  4. Its a shame it too far me, as like most people on here I do most of the JD, only downside is that I've got to use to CC3 and not dabbled in a "vanilla" network for some time. Wonder if they would offer a relocation package.....
  5. I always had an issue with holidays taken in non term time. Yes support needs to be there for the school but at the same time non term time tends to be the only time when some jobs can be done. If there is more than one person providing support then term time holidays should be given.
  6. I use a D2D2T which is housed in a different building from the servers. The only data I get backup offsite is my fms and sims data which is housed by our local authority

  8. This isn't official and is a "rumour" at the moment!! All staff have been asked to attend a staff meeting lead by the director of the LA education sector (hence the rumours) I will not be contacting my union until after the meeting when I should know more but has anyone been through the situation where the school they worked in was closed and if so what options were they offered.
  9. I have a couple of laptops which I cant get to build directly on CC3 so I have an external HDD to which I image the laptops using PING as a plain XP laptop and then smartclient them. If the laptops need rebuilding, I reload the image and then smartclient again. Not ideal but works for me.
