Classroom Lock Down Messaging

We have our fire alarm system set to use a different sound which can only be activated by a designated break glass in the main office and is a different colour (Yellow) so people know what it is for. Once that goes, nominated people have access to Netsupport Notify, which sends out an alert to teacher desktops activated by a shortcut key press (cannot remember what I set it to off the top of my head) -
Cheers for the reply. Currently have HP [emoji637][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]].[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]] laptops but this year we have over [emoji638][emoji638] laptops needed, so the only option is using Dynabook from Covid times and I’m trying to avoid those but SLT saying those are fine.

I've looked and can't find any info, but does anyone know if there are screen size requirements for laptops that are used in exams? Cheers

It is to do with ZSTD data compression which can cause problems with both Edge and Chrome - as I discovered with our Fortigate. I had to download the latest admx files in order to disable the protocol.

Managed to get print queues deployed - had to use the BYOD friendly print queues - which I am guessing uses a generic driver. Need to look at changing the account selection from being done at the client to being done at the device. Fingers crossed it fairly simple.

Do you only need to SIMSApplication.exe? Are the rest of the installers not needed? Cheers

Looking at setting up Print Deploy for testing on Intune laptops. a quick scan of the documentation mentions FDQN rather than IP address - does the FDQN have to be be external or would internal work fine? For those using Intune/Papercut - how have you configured yours? Thinking for when staff are at home and wanting to print etc. Cheers

I changed the deployment from background to foreground and that seemed to cure it for me -
Intune Win32App deployment issue - 0x87D30068
mdrabble replied to mdrabble's topic in Cloud Services
Tried from home yesterday and still have the same issue. Interestingly, I changed the download from background to foreground and then got a different error - 0x87D30067 unable to unzip content. Think I may try spinning up a VM intuned as Hybrid and another and Entra to see if join type is the issue and also rule out issue with laptop. -
I'm trying to deploy the FortiClient via Intune. I've created it as a Win32 app until the tool and created a PowerShell installer. I have some Hybrid Joined WIn10 devices which installed this without issue, but my Win 11 Entra Joined Laptop is having issues. All I am getting is the following error: Error code: 0x87D30068 (Error downloading content) - Install is targetting device groups. I would have thought there was an issue with the package, but as the Win10 devices installed it, this makes me things is a device issue. I've tried a could of google guides but without luck. Anyone else had similar errors and if so, how did you resolve them? I can install manually but with potentially 100 devices later in the year I would like to get this ironed out sooner rather than later. Cheers

Thanks @Katy will will look at going straight to Azure Joined, will also take a look at the Windows Hello/Cloud Kerberos Trust thing.

For those people who have already moved to Windows 11, did you find your existing Windows 10 GPOs worked fine, or did they need some changes making? Would you mind sharing your Win 11 GPO for computers and Student users Thanks in advance and for possibly saving what little sanity I have left Cheers Mark

We had intune working fine using hybrid joined for approx 10 laptops until recently where devices would failed when users sign in for the first time to set them up etc. After a dig around, turns out it is an issue with the profile we are currently using and line of site to network, so the devices are unable join AD etc I can spend some time fixing the issue or I can create a new profile and have new devices as Entra Joined only. If all goes well for September we will be going laptops for staff, so ideally I’d like to get this right now and not struggle and run into issues later on like I am now! What join type are other people using? And why? I’m happy to say I don’t know enough about intune and if it warrants paying someone to give it a once over and configure it correctly then great - one less area for me worry about being secure. Cheers

Thanks for all the info :-) Will be looking for around 100 laptops when the time comes but I first need to make sure Intune is fully setup and working as it should.

Yes will dig it out and post a link on here :-) -
I’ve found if you open the editor first, this then lets the hub know which version is installed. Use to be able to set it via registry but they since changed it to a json file in the users app data folder

Morning all After many years of trying - it might finally become a reality (saving my ears from staff moaning about needing a laptop and how many classroom they have to teach in......) - but is it looking likely I may get the green light to deploy laptops to staff July time in perpetration for next September. What laptops have people found to be most reliable and robust? Lenovo V14/V15 look good and appears to be favourite amongst people on here. Are there any other laptops which people would recommend. Will be getting USB C docks (with detectable cables preferably, so they are easily replaced if damaged) - like the look of the Lenovo Smart Dock Do you keep a monitor on the desk for staff to use (as well as the projector/Interactive TV) or remove it, so they just have the laptop and dock + projector/TV? Cheers

Ok, slightly weird, that Get-VMNetworkAdapter -All | Where-Object { $_.Id -eq "3447DECC-E1C4-480A-9676-F57364662747" } doesnt show any VMs with that adapter. I'm guessing as out of the 3 nodes I have, as it is only appear on 1 - it must be a VM located on that particular host. Might have to migrate them so see which one it could be.

Have contacted salamander about V2, so will wait to hear back from them.

Been a manic start to the term and whilst looking at updating teams using SDS I stupidly deleted the old profile. With MS moving to V2 of SDS, how do you create a profile now? I’ve tried to import csv files selecting the v1 option enter and name, select the file but then get an import error due to fields missing. I use salamander, to generate the SDS files but need to look into asking Salamander if they do V2 files - by this still leaves me unable to create a new SDS profile. Hope that all makes sense. Cheers
