Slightly off topic.... Xibo and noodle RSS feeds, how do you change the font size on the text? I can change the title and author but not the actual feed text.

I'm using Kaspersky Mail Security It is doing it job and not letting it hit the users mailboxes but the spam logs are growing and if this carries on it could end up filling the disc. I've added the email address to the black list but it still hitting my spam filters. So far incoming spam is 2528 messages and counting Not yet, but the logs are showing from random IP addresses which makes it more irritating......

I'm after advice on how to stop my exchange server from being spammed by the same email (noreply @ ukmail.com) Fortunately, my exchange filters have blocked it as spam but looking through the logs, this has been going on for nearly all day. I've checked the stmp logs and they are from different addresses which is somewhat annoying so I can't block them all ggrrrr......... Thanks

Recent issue has come to light with some macs not accessing locally hosted sites such as webmail, website, etc. when managed with Profile Manager. Macs work fine and are able to connect to local sites before adding into profile manager. Once profiles have been added, macs can no longer browse to webmail etc - they receive an error about Safari can't connect to the proxy server (Smoothwall - seems to be giving a 503 error) Remove the proxy settings and still unable to browse locally hosted sites - get same error Strangely - the macs can browse via IP address (which would seem to point to a DNS issue) but nslookup resolves DNS correctly. Macs have proxy exception in place but seem to be ignoring them as even with the exceptions in place smoothwall is still seeing the webmail url......... Anyone any ideas what to look at next? Cheers

Numpty question - install on hosts and VMs or just hosts?

Yep the hosts/storage stay on. VMs don't attempt to migrate, they just reboot as if you turn them off and on again. Nope, no messages about hosts being removed from the cluster. All hosts are using Teamed NICs so have multiple connections. Having gone through the Event logs again and looking at the Cluster Event, here is an example for 1 VM After which the VM is back up and running. I did think about a possible connectivity issue but as all VMs are stored in the same location I would have assumed it would have affected all VMs and not just some.

Using GPP and the proxy settings are left blank. Works fine for normal workstations.

I have a rather puzzling issue with my VMs and I have no idea if it is the Hosts, the Storage or something completely different. I have all my VMs stored on Storage Server and connected via SMB3 to 3 HyperV Hosts in a Cluster. Recently almost all of my VMs will suddenly reboot for no apparent reason. Rather worryingly it seems to be happening at least twice a day (once during the day and once in the evening). Backups are using MS DPM and only take place in the evenings. I have checked and no backups are running during the day. When I look at the evening logs, nothing jumps out at me, On the VM, I see the following, but I would expect to see these as it has lost connection. Event ID 6008 – The shutdown was unexpected at (time/date) Event ID 41 – Kernel Power (The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.) On the HyperV Hosts mention Event iD 1069 – FailoverClustering failed Cluster resource 'VM Details’ failed. Based on the failure policies for the resource and role, the cluster service may try to bring the resource online on this node or move the group to another node of the cluster and then restart it. Check the resource and group state using Failover Cluster Manager or the Get-ClusterResource Windows PowerShell cmdlet.) If this all of the VMs in the cluster then I could say possibly the Storage Server but some VMs remain up and running!! On the last reboot at 10:15ish this morning - from my 16 VMs, 6 remained up and running. When the VMs reboot it isn't always the same VMs that stay up and running either - it is pot luck which VMs stay running and on which host. I do have Virtual Machine Manager - nothing looks out of the ordinary on that - although I could be wrong and missed something. Anyone any ideas or suggestions? I'm waiting on a call from VeryPC to see if they can help but thought would also ask on here incase anyone has had similar issues. Cheers

Running a Server 2008r2 Server with NSpace Thin Clients and I have a strange issue where randomly and intermittently users do no always pick up GPO settings. The main GPO that is getting overlooking is for Proxy settings. A user logs on and it is pot luck if they get the settings. If they log off and on again, sometimes it sorts it, other time it doesn't. Any one any ideas? Cheers

Ive been pointed to Project Q - ProjectQ - The complete student software management resource for HPQ and EPQ to look at as an example. I've turned round and told the person who is planning to run it to use them for the 1st year. The member of staff has a fixed idea that they was to X,Y and Z with no idea if Moodle can even do the things they are asking. It basically the blind leading the blind! They have no idea how they are running it yet and they are giving me even less information to set up the Moodle course.

Thanks for the reply. I have been handed a powerpoint presentation from another school showing how they deliver EPQ online using a system called Vista (which is their in house system) I have a feeling looking at the screen shots that the member of staff who is going to be delivering this, will want it looking the same or a near as. It looks like students complete and store everything online. They have screenshots of students entering Candidate Declarations, Recording of Initial Planning....... Oh the joys!!

Just redone ours using Xibo - the student/general signage contains a powerpoint with notices for upcoming event, etc on 3/4 of the screen and the other 1/4 is showing an RSS feed from Moodle where staff can put notices for Students. The staffroom screen is the same as the Student Signage but it also shows screens for Cover and Staff bulletins.

I'm wondering if anyone on here that uses Moodle has set up a course for Extended Project Qualification. If yes, please could you let me know how you have set it up please. Many thanks :-)

Thankfully we don't have areas outside that need signage :-) On a slightly different note..... anyone using Xibo do display RSS feeds from Moodle? I can get my moodle RSS feeds to show fine in a web broswers but Xibo doesn't want to display them Xibo will show RSS feeds from other sites - so I am assuming it something to do with ether https or I missed something...... Anyone any pointers?

The RSS Feed idea is brill - no idea why I didn't think of that! Just playing with Forum/RSS in Moodle so I can then use the Moodle RSS Feed to display notices of the Signage screens :-)

I know a few edugeekers on here use Xibo - I'm just starting to get to grips with it. I am lacking inspiration on screen designed...... Who fancies sharing their designs :-)

Ive has this yesterday - no idea why! Mac wouldn't even browse locally hosted site - spend 30 mins looking at it and then decided to reimage the mac.

I don't support I could trial it free for a year haha

I've looked at this a few times as it looks a great piece of software but sadly with my budget the way it is, I couldn't justify purchasing it at this moment in time. If and when my budget improves that is on the list of software to purchase!

Mine is 3rd in the workflow - Partition 1st, Hostname, 2nd (hope that makes sense)

Have you added the Configure option to the workflow and enabled the rename bit?
