Could the crash relate to the usb dongle being accesed by the software -we had a server that would regularly lock up and nothing in the event log and we eventually tracked it down to when the USB backup drive was attached and accessed it would crash shortly after - can you try it without the dongle in for a while?

Random and off the wall suggestion - are there any usb hard drives/pen sticks plugged in the server?

The problem is virtually all the big manufacturers (Dell, HP and Lenovo) have a clause in there warranty plans that say next day on site warranty - somebody will be on site by the next day to look at the problem, if however you need parts then these will be as long as they will be!.

What material are they - poly carb or glass fibre?

The guy said to me they are finalising them at the moment and should be available before the end of the month.

If you mean the HP 100e they are not yet on release to the UK market but look fab.

Didnt see anything new from casio. New LED projector out from Samsung which they claim is the same brightness as a Casio but is only 1000 Lumens - can someone please explain Samsung's logic where 1000 is the same as 2000 (doesn't work from what i was taught at school). Rumor on the grapevine - Promethean will be launching an "Interactive Table" later in the year apparently they have "secured a deal through the acquisition of another company that has a technology that will allow them to release an interactive table". Timescale is 6 to 12 months though and price is not the issue, functionality is!

A big shout to out to Dos_Box for allowing me to play with his Slate and see if i can find out if the wireless card supports "Pre Logon Authentification" and i didnt break it in the process, Would appreciate anyone with a slate with Win7 Pro on it trying it on a domain (although i have asked the boss for one!). Boo to HP for not knowing if there new 100e supports it either!!

Thats only 325 per day which is about the industry standard for this sort of work - as for 4 days to build, transfer, install and test, that seems perfectly reasonable. Day 1 build server, install drivers, service packs and updates as needed. Day 2 Join to domain, transfer fsmo roles, start data and printer transfer Day 3 reconfigure GPO's, finish data and printer migration, demote and remove old server. Day 4 Testing, tweaking, finalising and sign off. Totally reasonable price to pay. James

Done But thes questions are not very good - i am guessing your dissertation is around why more green technology is not used in school and all your questions lead to those answers being given, you have not allowed for t people who have and do and make great progress with green technologies and people who do not see any barriers etc.

Have you tried looking in the management console from the other server when it crashes to see if you can look at the services that way? I believe you can also look at the resource monitor on another computer remotely and see if you can identify what is causing the freeze (CPU/Ram/Hard disk) etc. James

How about things like - moving/copying files, how to do group and specific select (Ctrl and Shift), etc
