  1. HP are currently offering cash back on various colourlaser and mono printers. http://h40059.www4.hp.com/lasersaver_cashback/qualifying_products.html?jumpid=re_r135_uk/lasersaverproducts_marcom_url
  2. We have 2 HP Laserjet 2300's in our sixth form and the little treasures havn't managed to break them in 2 years. As a cheaper alternative the 1320 is also quite good.

I'm surprised at the positive comments about Dell, I think i'll have a look at them. We've stuck mainly to HP over the last 3 years and had no problems, excellent quality kit but expensive to buy their extended warranty. We bought a batch of laptops a couple of years ago on recomendation from the County ICT Adviser from Ergo, great deal, good price, 3 year NBD warranty and boy did we need it, shocking kit!
  4. We did it 3 years ago but in-house (Foundation School) rather than the County Council doing it and I did very well, most stayed the same with about 5 getting a decent rise. My wife works for the local council and they have just gone through it, she stayed the same but I did hear that one IT specialist lost 10k!!

After reading my PM I can safely say 'Yes' and that if Tosca925's experience is anything to go by I would rather go to RM!! Thanks again for your help Tosca.

Does anyone have any experience of Evesham laptops, particularly their 'Voyager' range? Thanks
  9. Line B within the warehouse?
  10. Currently testing 62 kids, all running smoothly so far.
  11. You also must make sure your quote has not been special bid or SMG (Schools, Medical and Government) pricing which will also make your claim invalid.
  12. Ref the HP cash back offer. I have had quotes from Bechtle, HKW Information Systems and European Electronique. See attached promotion PDF. If you do buy make sure you read the Terms and Conditions and stick to the part numbers, also if you plan to order more than 20 because of the promotion they will only accept a claim to a maximum per invoice of 20 so get your supplier to send you multiple invoices. I have also looked at the RM One and I hate to say it but I am very impressed, the one thing that does worry me is their support. I got a very good quote from them which was £100 less per machine than their web site was quoting so they will do deals. I have also had an 'All in One' on trial from Stone, not a bad machine but it actually worked out more expensive than the RM One! hp_morepc_cash_back_may_2006_1_.pdf
  13. HP are also offering the cost of the TFT back when you buy their all in one solution saving you £139 per system. The offer is only applicable when you buy the following: HP DC7600 Ultra Slim Desktop (Part Codes - EC842ET or EC953ET) Integrated Works Centre Stand (DL641AT) HP L1706 17" TFT (PX849AT) I have so far had a quote for £638.80 per system but the after you claim the £139 back it brings the cost down to a nice £499.80 If you are going to buy more that 20 you must get your supplier to give you seperate invoices because in HP's Terms and Conditions you can only claim back upto 20 at a time.
  14. HP are also offering the cost (£139) of there 17" TFT back when purchased with their DC7600 desktop and Integrated works center stand. We are seriously considering buying 60+ at a cost per system of £499 but that is with the cash back, which obviously makes them an attractive option. Beofre we do this does anyone have any experience of claiming the money back. I have read through their terms and conditions and it doesn't seem to be a problem but...... Obviously the deal hinges on getting this cash back. Any advice?
  15. 'Systems Manager' advertised in last nights Gloucester Citizen. £35000 More details on the Schools website: http://www.csatc.org.uk Nice to see a proper salary in a school for a change!
  16. Used Stone for 3 years, I can count the problems on one hand, when they have gone wrong I call through to someone in this country give a serial number and they have someone out to you the following day.....what more do you want
  17. 5 here: SIMS File Print Mail Ghost
  18. We have been using Smarter Solutions for all our IWB's and I can't praise them enough. For our recent main hall multimedia installation we used a compay called Newday who specialise in this field and do lots of work for churches. They did a fantastic job and also with a simple one touch control panel made it teacher proof.
  19. The wife got me a replica lightsaber, lights up and makes a fantastic noise. Also got a radio controlled Ferrari Enzo.....wicked.

  23. We had a similar problem some weeks ago and it was because the projector keypad had been locked, to release it we had to hold down the 'Menu' button for 5 seconds for it to work again.
  24. First post and very new to this fantastic site. I would like to recommend 'Smarter Solutions' for supply, installation, support and training on Smart Boards. We have 28 smart boards here and previously have had 4 different suppliers that were all crap and most are now infact bust but have been using this company for nearly 2 years now and they have been absolutely superb. As you are all aware teachers are the worst bunch of people to actually educate but after various trainging sessions with Smarter Solutions all our boards are in use every day and the project has been a big success. I would be very interested in any experiences of Interactive Whiteboards from you all. Thanks
