Thanks ben, we're also considering looking at Ncomputing L300's as well. VeryPc just sent me their four card setup which does 8 units. I'm thinking of doing 8 units, 3 USB and two ethernet or 5 ethernet. However I'd like to take advantage of remotefx however there pitching the L300 as just as good. So i'm a little bit stuck on which to buy now haha!

We've had a few like this and switched model and it was fine. Also have you tried removing the driver and installing an older version? It could be that windows update updated the card to the microsoft approved version and broke catalyst.

Hi, Has anyone had much luck with dual quad cards in multipoint 2011. I'm looking at either 2x ATI 5570 or 2 x Matrox M9140 (prefer the matrox as it comes with all the adaptors!). Also be interested to know what USB audio/USB multimedia hub's people have managed to get to work with these. I'm also looking at remotefx capable thin clients and dell seems to be a good bet right now with the fx170. Anyone got experience on this, will show thanks via a pint (ermm coffee lol!)

Hi All, Sorry I’ve not posted in a while been super busy! Anyway down to the nitty gritty I'm doing a VMware View install and I'm trying to wrap my head around the license requirements. We currently are going to trial it on 200 PC's which we are replacing with thin clients certified to run Flash/Video. This means we'll have to create a stock image of windows 7 then create 200 VM's. Can I simply transfer the license from the existing PC's (XP Pro) and upgrade or do I need to purchase any special types of licenses now that MS has changed the virtualisation section of the agreement? We're not going to EES until 2014, so that’s out the window. I’m assuming we’re going to need: SQL 2008 + 2 x Windows Server 2008 + 200 XP Pro + 2x ESX + Vmware View x 200 (I believe we can get the vmware licenses in a bundle) We think we have the hardware down but not the licences.

We used to use ghost or Unattended, A Windows deployment system: Welcome. I used to love unattended been some time since I've used it though. Started off with put a cd in and pick what we want on that machine then went PXE for larger installs. Ran windows scripts after to setup all kinds. What I did like was it was a proper install per machine not an image.

Everything tends to be dead or stupidly busy. Look after a few sites and one minute sat doing nothing then 6 ring all at once. It's as if the gremlins decide to do co-ordinated attacks on IT workstations/servers at different locations hah. You lot get the same?

What about plugging the fibre into the other switch? Just to see if it crash's that one too?

spanning tree's only on switch's and it just knocks the traffic off for everything for a period of time it doesn't reboot the whole switch every minute. If it was cat5e i would of said a short but since it's fibre it seems really strange. Did he try swapping the fibre module out?

memtest is an issue in itself, it won't detect if it's a mobo or a ram issue as it could be either or both as far as memtest in concerned. Only way to test ram is a proper memory testing unit independent of the board afraid. It's an indicator not a test.

we had sticks fail from bad handling at install time or just handling them in the shop months on. It can simply be static damage and it just takes a while to show. You not borrow some out of another computer to try? Saves buying ram or mobo then
