  1. All, Thanks for your replies. After working on this for over three days, I finally found the root cause. It was the MSI Afterburner running in the background, grabbing that .dll and not letting it go. To test, I completely uninstalled MSI Afterburner (after it being the last thing I tried!) and rebooted again, and no more errors.
  2. Hello, I recently started getting errors in different games and applications with Windows 7 and they all seems to revolve around the aticfx32.dll (see appcrash details below) I am running windows 7 64-bit (see system details below) and crossfired Radeon 5870. I assumed this had something to do with my video card, or drivers. So I completely removed all drivers, and catalyst control center, and reinstalled them. I reinstalled Steam (which is where my games are) and redownloaded the games that were having troubles (not all games had issues). Some of them got fixed, but others still crashed periodically. The weird thing is, HL2 used to work fine, but then stopped working, but I was able to get it working again after going through all this. I am currently on CCC 11.8 beta (because 11.7 didn't seem to do anything). Like I said, HL2 is working now, but it seems that anything that calls that aticfx32.dll may not work. Below is the appcrash information when I was trying to run Hammer (the Level editor for HL). I also checked to make sure that I completely removed the aticfx32 and rewrote it when I did my reinstalls. Still, I get the error. I have rebooted the computer a number of times, I have done a completely clean reboot, where I start nothing but the OS. I have updated my audio drivers, run all the Windows Updates, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I am not sure where to go from here.
