  3. No, I'm not connected with this.
  4. LED Lenser P3 torch? LED Lenser 8403TP P3 Key Ring Torch (Test It Pack) - Black: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools Very high quality torch (if the larger ones are anything to go by) and takes sensible batteries. Useful, high quality and cheap.
  5. What process is using the CPU? How much CPU usage is 'too high'? The processor in the Acer Aspire One ZA3 is quite slow. When modern applications are run on slow CPUs they will use a greater percentage of CPU to function. From a poor source I am guessing the CPU is an Atom Z520 or similar processor (Acer Aspire One User Forum • View topic - Acer Aspire One AO751H-1948 (ZA3) unbox pics +mini review). CPU Benchmark (PassMark CPU Lookup) Lists this CPU as having a score of 248. This is a bad score relative to modern CPUs (though common in netbooks); I would expect modern applications to run noticably slowly on this CPU.
  6. We have had this on several of ours, ED-A100 and ED-A110s, but unfortunately the warranties have now expired. Having a dig inside the projector the problem appears to lie with a collar on the shaft which opens the reflector. The collar should be firm on the shaft and mate with a cog, also on the shaft, which is driven from the motor. The collar has cracked, meaning that it no longer grips onto the shaft in order to open the reflector. Any idea where this part can be obtained without paying silly money for a repair? Presumably from the right supplier it should be less than a few pounds. Diameter is approximately the same as a five pence piece.
  7. It's important not to blur the opinions of directors with the message of charities. Checking the OCC website it appears transparent in what they do with boxes and literature. Surely it is down to the person donating to check if they agree with the message of the charity before donating items? Before donating to charities I always check where the money is going (justgiving taking their top slice, for example) - some people don't check.

  12. Shutdownertron also works very well with Windows 7.
  13. Yes. Try giving the users whose profiles are being saved in that location Full control permissions on the share 'profiles$' and full control on the folder in that share where their profiles are located. If the user has insufficient permissions the folder is not created/populated. It may be odd that the folder is created in the profiles$ directory at logon - I believed this was created during the first log off..
  14. A random few of our computers display this problem when Windows has failed to boot. 'Startup Repair' was run (by users - as they did this before the problem was reported) and we do not know what repair method they selected. It appears that something performed in Startup Repair caused the relationship to fail. This is only when it's not something obvious such as two computers with same name, account deleted, etc.
  15. When running AAMEE did you enter your volume licence serial number during the 'serialize' step?
  16. We label laptops underneath near the serial number and also underneath the battery (on the chassis). We found labels on the top were picked off too often as they were seen by the students. Dymo gun labels are what we use and, for us, they do last the academic year if placed in one of the places I mentioned.
  17. ICT Technician at Sir William Robertson High School. Salary: NJC point 20 (£18,453) Source - Lincolnshire County Council - Job Details - ICT Technician Closing Date Monday 18th July 2011. Interviews Thursday 21st July 2011.
  18. An IP Video Server is what you want - commonly they display the video input on a web page accessible by an IP. Having not used one I'm afraid I can't recommend a model, but Axis do them - albeit pricey at £150+
  19. Stick with Windows 7. Makes better use of modern hardware, has better compatibility with modern applications and would be a good proofing ground in preparation for site-wide migration to Windows 7.
  20. Link Aggregation needs to be enabled on the four ports on each switch you wish to combine to be the 4Gb link. edit: with 2x Fibre modules in each switch you can only combine the two modules on each switch, giving a 2Gb link.
  21. The updates are available now on WSUS... based on our selected products/classifications there are 124 updates available.
  22. Play.com 12GB - 3 x 4GB USB Flash Drive Triple Pack - USB Flash Drives at Play.com (UK) - 3x 4GB for £11.99 delivered. Build quality may not be great, though.
  23. If the LEA refuse to change the subnet mask on their router within the school things would break. Their router would see the subnets of the allocated range as one subnet - which would mess up routing.
